Question about Sanyo Microwave Ovens
Facia panel lights up when plugged in. timer counts down when programmed. light not working when door opened. turntable not working. bulb checked-ok. two fuses checked-ok.
Check out with a multitester whether the control panel switch on the power towards the high voltage transformer NNB disconnect the high voltage transformer for this test. if not the relay on the electronic controlle device is broken and the panel needs replacement. check also the 3 safety switches on the door for proper operation. mind the power it is dangerous.

The door switches are almost certainly the culprit - probably the upper one. It may also be a loose mount, or even a loose spring in the hook-like devices on the door which activate the switches. There is a center monitor switch whose purpose is to blow open the fuse if the door is open and the upper or lower switch gets activated. That's why the fuse blew when the screwdriver was introduced - you activated the door switch while the monitor switch was on. I've attached a generic picture which gives you the idea. More importantly, at my Web site, I have critical safety information, disassembly tips, and infomration on checking and replacing door switches. You can find these via my link at FixYa here: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

is usually caused by either a bad door switch or a loose door switch
mount, which are pretty simple problems to fix.
Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside.
Door switch or mount trouble is usually caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.
There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.
The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly.
Sometimes it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. This tab can be hard to see, since it is under the bottom edge of the switch.
One test that sometimes helps is to gently lift up (and/or push down) on the door or handle as you try to start it. If it works or tries to work, then it's a door switch mount or door alignment issue.
