Question about SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 Player
I turn on the MP3 player, and it loops during the opening boot screen. At the end of the loop, the screen whitens and starts all over again. Half the time, the computer recognizes that there is a device connected to it, and when that happens, I notice all 763 music files are intact. It rarely plays. I tried going into Recovery Mode, and formatting/updating the firmware, but to no avail. This problem has arisen in the past day. I assume it is due to being in my car during the hot part of the day, But I have done this for months now. Another thing that may have occured (but I highly doubt this could be a problem) was that last night I was at a buddy's apartment and tried hooking up the MP3 player to a standalone stereo to see if it would play off my MP3 player songlist via the headphone jack. Didn't work. I have had experiences before with my laptop being exposed to heat, but I managed to fix it using utility discs. Since the MP3 player is a less complicated device as opposed to a computer, is it possible to fix it with this diagnosis? I don't care if I lose all my files. They can be re-synced. I just want this thing to work again. HELP!
Please try this steps. Remove the battery from the player. Then enable the hold switch for it to show orange/red color connect the player to the computer. Right-click My Computer and click on Manage. Click on device manager and click on Universal Serial Bus Controllers, see if you have USB Mass Storage Device. Then see if you also have there Storage Volumes, right click on it and see if that is the player. If it is then click on Disk Management and try to format the player from there if it is visible if not you may have to replace the product.
