Try master resetting the phone if that does not help then have the firmware reflash on the phone.

If i cant put ringtones on my nokia 1661 then how come i the ringtone catergory it has four empty slots?

You cannot put ringtone on you nokia 1661 because there is no feature for you to do that on your phone.

The four empty slots are for ringtones you compose from your phones composer.

To create ringtones from your phones,

Go to your phones 'menu',
Select 'Extra',
Select 'composer',
A page with music notes will come up, after composing your polyphonic tone, you can store it in one of the four empty slots.

Take care

Ringtone problem

consult your phones manual, sometimes other phones can not handle an mp3 extension files for ring tones, or midi, or poly or wav.. you need to convert the files you want to be your ringtone to an appropriate phone format before you can use it as your ringtone.

LG TU550 apparently has 72 ringtones, I can only access 11.

This phone does not come with 72 ringtones, rather it has 72 "chords" that can make up a polyphonic ringtone. Most polyphonic ringers can simulate the sound of various instruments, instead of just tones. Different phones support a different number of simultaneous instruments or "chords". Your phone has more than most with its 72. hope that helps

Most like your telcom switched from polyphonic ringtones to mp3 or real-tone ringtones only.
The Katana 6600 only plays polyphonics(QCB) ringtones. And they're impossible to find. So you have to make your own.

I cant have my own mp3 songs for my ringtone on my LG Chocolate. it keeps playing the Ring 1 ringtone.

You can: MP3 Player * Download and listen to music with the built-in MP3 player.
* Don’t settle for boring polyphonic ringtones, select an MP3 as your ringtone. (Also supports AAC, AAC+, AAC++ and WMA formats)
* External MP3 button for easy access to your music.
* Graphic equalizer with 6 sound effects to choose from (General, Classic, Jazz, Pop, Rock and Bass).
You should try to find a music or download some mp3 music and when playing click on set as ringtone.
Good luck!

You can not play mp3's on this phone ---- Audio Playback: The Motorola C261 does not come with an MP3 player. This phone comes with built in polyphonic ringtones, which means you can download simple MIDI files from the Internet and upload them through your phone, or simply download them via GRPS (if GRPS is built in). We do not recommend purchasing polyphonic ringtones from pay-per-use services such as television commercials, because the C261 is capable of receiving them as MIDI files which are common on the Internet.
