My alesis hr-16 has seveloped a software issue 02..what does that mean?

The software is on an EPROM chip inside.
It can go awry for a number of reasons, including a voltage surge via the earth, coming back from the amp
Always connect everything before powering up your system. If you disconnect to troubleshoot, power down before reconnecting.

Try this if you don't mind losing all your patterns:

Power off
Hold down "ERASE", "DELETE", and "RECORD" while you turn power on

This will clear all your memorized patterns & reinitialize the system.
If that doesn't work, the EPROM chip may need to be reprogrammed or replaced.

Put new string in a hohner steinberger bass very hard to turn tuner to pitch

You have stripped the threads on the string retainer part of the bridge adjusters. You will have to have it rethreaded with helicoils or buy a replacement which is $39

Amp turns on but no sound unless turned up to 9 or 10. switch to distortion and no sound at all.

Check C131 which should have 5 volts across it. This powers the analog switch chip that has to select the audio channel and routing. If 5 volts isn't there, check cap for a short. There are too many other possibilities to enumerate here. You need electronic test equipment to troubleshoot this problem and some skill at troubleshooting.

Here is your schematic:

My guitar was playing fine yesterday but when i plugged it in after my friend's bass guitar was using the same amp, my guitar got this feedback from the amp. I cant stop it and it's very problematic.

First of all I suggest that you try your guitar through another amp you know works without the feedback. There is a very slim chance there is something wrong with your guitar but I would say no. You didn't mention what kind of amp you have: solid state, tube or hybrid. It would help if you tell us what brand and model number your amp is. Try setting your amps controls the way you usually have them and using a long cord that works properly, isolate your guitar by putting it in a room with the door closed by running the cord under the door. Is the feedback still there? Try playing with your back to the amplifier. Is the feedback still there? You need to identify the problem. Is it your guitar or is it the amp? Here is a link to tube amp troubleshooting:http://www.geofex.com/ampdbug/ampdebug.htm Here is a link to guitar feedback causes:http://www.guitarsite.com/discussion/messages/23765.shtml If you decide it is your guitar you can have a look for broken solder joints etc. There are wiring diagrams on the internet. If it is your amplifier, you should take it in to be serviced. Take it to a dealer that carries and services that brand. Unless you have all the tools, a schematic and electronic troubleshooting experience you are in danger of injuring or killing yourself or making the problem worse. Hope this helps.

When i play on my line 6 amp (15 watt), the distortion doesn't work at all, like i tried using a number of different cables and all of my guitars and i get the same result. It basically sounds like i'm...

Since you have tried all external possibilities, this will require troubleshooting. If you are not adept in electronics, you best take this to a shop familiar with this model.

If I were troublleshooting this, I would suspect the power amp transistors or connections to them might be bad, but the testing would likely use an oscilloscope to trace the signals in an expedient manner..

One schematic for Crate I found uses darlington transistors TIP142 and TIP147.

Samson MDR8 blowing internal power supply fuses. Is there a wiring schematic of the power supply board available

Here is a troubleshooting hint:

Put an incandescent lamp in series with the hot side of the power cord. This acts as a resetable fuse while troubleshooting so you don't blow fuses.

Schematics are hard to come by, but power supplies are easy to trace the circuitry.

Check filter caps and the diodes and THEN look for hot (temp) IC's and transistors.

Roland KR-5500 digital piano When it warms up it begins to crackle and it smells like an electrical problem. I need a manual on the steps to properly remove the outer case to get inside to the electronics....

Unless you are skilled at electronics troubleshooting, you would probably be better off taking it in to be repaired. It might be the power transformer or a filter capacitor or a number of other things. The problem may not even be visible. You will definitely need a schematic and some test equipment. Crate bv120.no power or sound..no lights..f6 fuse has 160 ohms...

did you change out the fuse? could be a tranny going south. if you change the fuse and you still get no power, then you have a fried power transformer. they are relatively easy to replace. look on ebay . get the numbers off of the existing one and start web searching. something will come up. if not email me on my contacts tab in my website yostamplifier.com we can troubleshoot. you should see the custom blue voodoo i built and gave to my little brother.
