DVD DMR-E50 Doesn't Work

I turned my DVD DMR-50 on with the panasonic remote and was watching a movie recorded earlier in the evening. When I tried to skip a head nothing happen. I could not get the remote to do anything, not even turn off the dvd. I changed batteries and that did no good. I can not get it to go to setup to check there. Help!

I've worn out the remote control for my Pansons DVD video recorder DMR-E50. Please tell me how I can get another one. Thanks.

Here is a link to one available for $35.95
http://www.dvdremotecontrols.com/Mfrs/Panasonic/MscDVD/EUR7615KN0.htm

And one for $34.95
http://www.remotecontrolwarehouse.com/PANASONIC/EUR7615KN0.html

Your other option is to buy a Universal remote that can work with your DVD recorder. The one from the Panasonic website is about $50

DMR-E50 DVD recorder versus DMR-ES15 are these equivalent recorders

The DMR-ES15 is a later model (around 2006/07) than the DMR-E50 (2003/04), but essentially both should do the same job so technically - a good equivalent in terms of recording and same brand so yes. The connections on the rear (of the replacement recorder) should suit and work with your other devices just as the old one did.

According to some other online reviews, the DMR-E50 has had a few issues with recording, and finalizing certain discs.

I'd say go for it - accept the replacement - as long as it comes with some kind of guarantee, works fully and has all the accessories (including remote, instructions etc.) you should be good. Contact the store and seal the deal.

I hope you can get this in time for Christmas.

Recorded disc will not play in other players

Sounds like you may not have finalised the disk after recording it. You can't do this without the remote control, so you may have to buy another. My remote was broken and I got an exact Panasonic replacement from tvbitz.com or you can get them on ebay sometimes - part number IRC85049. When the disk is finalised you should be able to play it on any DVD machine. Steve
