SOURCE: 110v - 240v

I have had the power supply checked and it only blowed the fuse in my plug the unit is ok. Thank god we have fuses in our plugs in the UK, I have had a variac to bring 240v down to 120v and the power supply is working on my bench at work, I am going to try and change the taps at lunch and tap in the the centre pin so i can run 240v straight through. I had no idea the power supply was external. Why is this the case?

SOURCE: Plugged it into 240V now it wont run

there is a little relay on the compressor more then likely that is toast. I would start by pulling it off and replacing that. Get back with me and we could go from there. The relay protects the compressor from overloading. Now do you have a fan beside the compressor?

SOURCE: want to change my 110v plug on my dewalt radio to

Your radio must be a import from the U.S.A. Your radio will not work on 240v YOU WILL BLOW IT UP!!! You need a step down transformer 240v to 110v to goto your radio, you will have to do a search on Ebay in Power tools. You sould notice the lead on your 110v radio is not like normal flex as its only single insulated for 110 volts.... Don't put a normal plug on or you may have to call the fire brigade!!

Will my 240v charger work on 110v

Can't say for certain, but there are specific 110V and 220V versions of DCB101.
None are labelled 90-220VAC as would be normal for universal voltage equipment.
If you operate 110V equipment on 220V then you will most likely damage it with overvoltage.
If you operate 220V equipment on 110V then you will most likely damage it in over current or have it simply not work.

It is possible that the charger is universal, just not labelled as such.

My Dell Laptop was working fine in 220V country, when i moved and try to use it in US (110V) the charger LED is ON but once i plug it in the laptop it goes off and the laptop is not working. i even tried...

So two different devices, each with their own charger, don't work in different power outlets in different rooms? How about if you plug a light into the same outlet. Does the light work? Does it dim when you plug the charger into the laptop? If so you have a bad electrical system, either a loose wire or bad outlet.

Is it OK for 240v & 110v

Hello bellm.... This shaver operates on a battery. The charger for the battery can be changed to suit the power source available in whatever country you reside. If your shaver was assembled in the states, it most likely has a 110v charger which will work when you plug it into the 110v outlets found in the states. If you buy this shaver in England, for instanice, it will come with a cord and charger that will plug into the 240v system available in the UK. Joe

Dewalt charger

Ok, for easy way, you can just put a 1~2A diode in series of the input 240v power wire, so the after voltage would be around 120v, but for precaution it is better that you put two diode in series, it will give you same result. In addition, I have already tested it on a similar charger, it works fine.
p.s: I do have a similar one that is also 110v, I compared it with other 240v one. They worked same.

The AC adapter for the battery charger shoud work from 110V-240V with auto detection for voltage. Look at the marking on the AC adapter and the input voltage should show 110V-240V. Once you verify this, the charger will work on 220V and you will only need the outlet adapter.
