How if the mic is working but DOES'NT connect from the reciever because the red light is not working

It depends on the specific frequency that you have. Some of the UT systems operated between 698 and 806 MHz, and they are now illegal.
Other UT systems operated below 698 MHz and those are still legal to use.
Look at the frequency that is on the sticker on the back or bottom of the receiver or the sticker that is in the battery compartment of the microphone.

Sounds like a complicated issue. Many things could cause this symptom. Try calling Shure at 800-516-525 to see if they can help troubleshoot.
