There is not a governor on newer mowers. Ease mower thru grass slowly, if starts to slow down stop, let mower speed up. In tall grass only use 1/2 of the deck width with side discharge open. Ensure spark plug is clean and gapped properly, replace once a year. Ensure air filter is clean, replace once a year. Ensure oil is full. 30w oil. Always use Stabile in gas. Use carb cleaner and clean outside of carb to ensure choke lever is free to rotate.

I have a Troy Bilt trimmer model TB675EC...4 cycle engine. Problem that has arisen is that it dies at high speed and under load. Starts up and runs at idle well.

Fuel starved, carb should have an idle adjustment which sounds like it is fine. Look for the second adjustment

HOW TO SWITCH 6260 TO 60HZ

6260 isn't a model number for any Ingersoll Rand generator.

Generally, though, if you have a generator that generates 50Hz and you want it to produce 60Hz instead, you adjust the governor to increase engine running speed by 20%... if the engine will tolerate that speed. The first thing you need to do is find out what speed the engine runs when it's under normal load. If that speed can't safely be increased 20%, then the generator head has been built strictly for 50Hz and there's nothing you can do about it except run a UPS between the generator and your load.

If the engine speed IS low enough to safely increase by 20%, then that's what you do.

My Toro GTS LV195EA 362003C is starting, but not staying running. I cleaned the carb, replaced the spark plug and filter, and have tried to adjust the govenor and bowl nut on carb, but the throttle and...

Engine surge is usually caused by one of two things...
1) a lean condition. Not getting enough fuel.
2) throttle plate shaft in carb is worn. usually clears up when engine is put under a load. You can live with it or replace the carb

My generator only puts out 89 volts.

I need a model number for your ENGINE not the whole generator. I believe this is a case of the engine not running fast enough. I.e governor adjustment will be necessary. Respond with an Engine model number and I will stll you how to adjust the governor speed.

This is GENERIC but the Governor arm has a spring that connects to a speed plate. The speed plate has a stand off screw and nut used for speed adjustment and a center nut for securing the speed plate in a fixed position. The Steps are to slightly loosen the center nut and the locking nut on the speed adjustment screw. Start the unit with a meter reading output power voltage (use extension wire for meter) Then turn the speed increase screw in to increase speed. When you reach 122-123 VAC stop. The reason you adjust it to 122-123 VAC is because voltage will drop as the generator provides power loads
Tighten the screw lock nut while running if possible and tighten the center nut on the speed plate to secure it in place. Check voltage again.

If you generator is running at normal speed and you have low voltage output... most of the time the Capacitor is failing. If the capacitor is failing the magnetic field in the armature and stator collapse under above average loads causing HUGE voltage swings.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

WITH MOTOR RUNNING REMOVE ONE PLUG LEAD AT A TIME (INSULATED PILERS) MOTOR SHOULD REACT IF GOOD , IF ENGINE SPEED DOES NOT DROP ITS A FAULT AT THAT CLY, TRY NEW SPARK PLUG 1ST THEN LEAD, ALSO CHECK FOR ANY FAULTS OR SHORTING OF THE PLUG LEADS, COIL PACKS. (MORE NOTACABLE IN DAMP CONDITIONS) THESE CARS NEED TOP QUALITY PLUGS, OR THEY WILL ALL FAIL UNDER LOAD,

Starts but quits under load

If it won't pull under load it usually means it's sucking air somewhere. Let it idle and spray around the intake with wd-40 untill you find the leak ( the engine will speed up when you do ) .

Water leak under the rotating drum

Have you removed the front panel?

If not remove front panel two screws 5/16 on bottom

Start the washer in a cycle. look with a flash lite and look for leak.

It maybe the rubber boot.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

I will also need model number, because a AWS52NW is a top loader model number not a front loader.
