Yes it can, there are vendors who rebuild them. I don't know if it will be cost effect vs. buying a replacement board.

Won't run. lights work

see the video attached. Lube the rollers bearing too front+back. test the drive belt motor, for to loose or faulty belt and repair and replace.
However you must test the input voltage terminal motor, see my personal TIPS , if there are the motor is faulty.
Test the output voltage control board, for input voltage terminal motor, if there ARE not voltage , the board is faulty.

God bless you

Prices continue to drop precipitously and a repair or replacement of the board is gonna be expensive. Better off with new set and new warranty.

Turn tv on, audio but only flashing pic, then turn off and turn back on same thing, 3rd time have full pic

Hi,
This problem will occur under two circumstances
1, Faulty electrolytic capacitors in the power supply board
2. Faulty back light inverter board.

Fist of all check is there is any faulty capacitors in the power supply board. If you find or not try to replace all the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply board. In most cases this will solve the problem. I have added the some video which will help you

The second one is the inverter back light inverter board. There is no repair possible with the inverter board. You have to replace the board with a new one. As you didn't mentioned any model number of your tv its not possible to attach a picture of the exact inverter board. The back light inverter board will look like one in the picture

Colours on the screen have lost red and all the recommended solutions seem useless. What else can I try?

If you connect your desktop to another external screen, you will instantly know whether the fault lies in the video processing, (Mother/Video Board fault), or the desktop screen is faulty.
If it is Mother Board, there is not much you can do except check the drivers are OK by substitution.
If it is a faulty Video Board, replacement will let you know if it infact was that at fault. Check the cable leaving the Desktop and at the screen end, there may be a bad connection. If not the screen has a fault and will have to be replaced.
If you require a new screen, visit ebay, there are always suppliers there at reasonable prices for the DIY repaires or take it to your HP repairer.
Hope this helps.

Display problem due to mother board not accessing the RAM

Motherboards that have an on-board video card/chip, uses part of the main RAM module for its video RAM. If the RAM module is faulty then there isn't any video RAM available and therefore the computer won't boot up.
Try re-seating the RAM module first and see if the computer boots up.
If not, remove the RAM and take it to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you. If the RAM is faulty then replace the RAM.

No picture

Try doing the following:

Use the source button to ensure that source is not set to the wrong input.

Try unplugging power cord for ten minutes, to ensure it is not a setting problem.

Check all the video cables at the back of TV.

Check Light /Color settings.

If problem persist and does not depend on external receiver or settings, then it is likely an internal fault.

If it has sound but no picture then one of the following parts is faulty, and must be tested and replaced:

The Sustain board may be faulty.
Ysus and Zsus boards have the function of sustaining voltage on the plasma display cells.
When a Sus board is faulty you can get no screen.
This is the most common reason for dark screen or no raster on plasma TVs.

Buffer board.
Usually faulty buffer board causes picture problems, or a line on display, however in same case this can also cause no picture.

The main controller board.
This is the board that controls the video signal, it is difficult to test, as there is need to read determined values on IC pins. To test this board you need to purchase a service manual and follow the troubleshooting diagrams on service manual.

Input/Output Signal boards.
This are the boards where you connect the video and audio cables, if a signal board is defective, then you may get no picture on particular inputs located on faulty board.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual.

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.
