Ensure that the cable from the wall to the receiver is snug at its connective ports. Now check to see that the TV is one the right input source e.g. component 1, AV 1, hdmi , etc. If you are connected using coax make sure you are on CH 3. If the receiver connects to another component such as a dvd eliminate that device and connect the receiver directly to the TV. If you are unable to make a picture still shoot me another message and telll me the specifics of your setup such as if the issue is with a Duo or Solo receiver, at what location it is if it is a duo receiver, and the way and means by which it connects to the TV. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

I have a 322 dish receiver there is just too ports to hook to and i have ant.+ cable and sat. to hook to it anyhelp would be welcome. thanks

Heychuck68102, my name is Mike Houston of DISH Network and I was going over yourpost and I see where you want to connect a cable wire plus you're satellite. Ifyou have a TV that will allow for a RCA connection you can run the RCA cable tothe top red, white and yellow inputs and run the antenna directly to theTV/Antenna IN. Then you will be able to connect the cable to the TV CH ¾ input.I will send a link to help with these steps, http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/how-to-set-up.

Can i hook up an old tube type tv to a new high satellite dish? i dont care if i get high def picture just want a regular picture.

Yes there is an option for ouptuting 480i signal from most hd receivers. You will need to check the specifics for the satellite dish receiver as to the channel that the TV should be on as well as how to set it to the resolution that you need. (I know some Dish receivers need channel 60 for the SD TV (coax (RF) connection) when it is TV 2 but channel 3 or 4 for TV 1.) Also check your TV so that you can use the best possible input available.

However, you may not be able to read the closed captions unless you enable them on the receiver. (Apparently, the encoding has changed.)

The manuals for some satellite company receivers are on their website. For example, Dish network manuals are here: http://www.dishnetwork.com/supportsection/manuals . Their manual for the Solo VIP 211k describes connecting the receiver to a SD TV on page 91 (page 97 in the PDF version).

I hope this helps.

(I'm not aware of any satellite system that doesn't use a set-top box. If you do not have a receiver, then the above does not apply and you may not be able to get a signal.)

Cant get my check swith to show satellite

Hello, this is Matthew Gonzales with DISH Network customer service. If you are not getting satellite signal, the problem can several different things, but here are a few things you can try. First, try a hard reset. To do a hard reset, you unplug the receiver from its power outlet, wait 15 seconds then plug it back in. The next step would be double checking you satellite cable. On the back of the receiver there should be a cable connected where it says "Satellite in", make sure this cable is secured from the receiver to the wall. After you do these steps, try running a check switch test (menu-6-1-1-check switch-test). If you are still not receiving satellite signal, a technician will be needed at the home to fix the issue. If this has not been resolved, please feel free to email me at [email protected].

Hi myname is Mike Houston of DISH Network and I was going over your post and whenyou move the receiver you always want to make sure all connections are in thesame place. The SAT feed coming into the house will connect to the SatelliteIn, and your TV connects to the CH4 CH3 on the back of the receiver. I willsend a link that will help with these steps. http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/bbs-screen

Just installed DishNetwork Satellite TV. I have the jumbo remote

When dealing with satellite tv, you have to set the remote for satellite by setting the correct code for the satellite dish and pressing on the SAT button. Then, you have to set it for sound by pressing on the TV button and placing the correct code for the brank of TV.

In other words, you must set both sound and satellite to be able to control the channels and the sound. This is somewhat awkward for people with disabilities, but it can be taught.

Plasma TV color problem

Sometimes, poor picture quality occurs when having activated an A-VHS camera or camcorder connected and having connected another peripheral at the same time. In this case switch off one of the other peripherals. Also, The norcent has a known problem with progressive scan - when connected to a progressive scan source, it yields a distorted screen with dual images and messed up colors.
