Question about Hotpoint Aquarius WD640 Front Load Washer/Dryer
Hello, I have a Hotpoint WD440 (with the Mk4 board) I came back and the door was locked but door lock light was off and it had stopped mid-cycle (on final spin) I suspect I broke the handle at this point. I replaced the handle, this did not resolve I have replaced the interlock, this did not resolve I have just fitted a replacement board from EMW and run a cycle without any clothes in to see what it did. The door locked (light on) and it commenced It has gone all the way through to final spin again and then the door lock light has gone off (but the door remains locked) When it stopped the WASH, RINSE & SPIN and FINAL SPIN lights were lit solid and the ON/OFF is solid, the door is locked still, and the machine has stopped doing anything. I have switched off, after 5 mins, door will open. Switched back on, and selected "FAST SPIN" on the dial. Door locks (with a clunk) and the FINAL SPIN light is solid, ON/OFF light is solid but the DOOR LOCK light is out...after 5 minutes or so the DOOR LOCK light flashes. What is wrong with it please, I thought the board was going to resolve this

SOURCE: Door interlock flashing
Same issue with loose solder joint on the relays inside CCU (computer control unit)
the same bad CCU is used by several manufactures.
you have to open the CCU and re-solder the the relays to the board. they have microcracks around the legs.
you will get the door lock issue randomly.
to prove the issue open the top access panel .and pull up on the center black plastic connector and the issue will go away.

You have probably knocked of the connector or the catch (and on these it is very fragile as I have changed the catch 3 times on mine) is broken

Sometimes a weak or broken spring in the door handle can be the cause of the problem, but you would have to take the door apart to check this.
If you have already fitted a new door lock, then chances are it is the control board, but I would check the door handle first.
