Noise in front end, when u make a turn it stop and starts again

I replaced the wheel bearing in my 2002 Impala a few years ago & A guy I work with is having the same type of problem with his 1996 Saturn SC2 1.9l When going down the road it makes a noise, but when messing with the wheel or turning it goes away temperaraly. I am no mechanic and do not claim to be, So do u think its a wheel bearing & If u think so, what are the steps I need to take to get at & replace on this 96 Saturn? Thank You for any & all help..

A wheel bearing will make noise when there is weight on it. if you turn the wheel from side to side while driving and shift the weight it will tell you what side is the noisey bearing. the bearing is pressed in. you must use a press to replace.

Front end rotation noise

It should have been thoroughly checked. Noises like these on four wheel drives could several different things. A bearing, CV axle, or the differential, or bearings in the differential. A wheel bearing will make different sounds when making a turn. A CV axle is a constant sound. Differential bearings can come and go, depending on if it is a bearing for the axle or a pinion bearing. Axle side bearings usually make a constant noise. The differential can also come and go. Depends on acceleration or slowing down. All these sounds are also with a vibration. Slight to harsh.

What makes my 2002 Pontiac Firebird grind when driving and/or turning?

Sounds like a wheel bearing. Jack up front end and spin wheels by hand and listen for grind. Same for rear wheels. Make sure brake linings are good all around. Do the swerve test. Drive down road bout 40mph and swerve moderately one side to other. If noise gets louder with weight shifted to one side more than other its most likely a wheel bearing.

Humming noise coming from left front tire, just started two days!

If the tires are wearing normal then its not the ball joint. If it worse while turning one way and quieter turning the other way it a wheel bearing. A ball joint does'nt make a constant noise.

Vibration and noise from front end while driving

Jack up the front end and put stands under it and block rear wheels. Look at axle boots and see if they are cracked. Try turning wheel back and forth sharply and see if you can hear any clicking. Problem could be outer axle joints. If the boots are cracked or you hear a clicking noise you will have to replace the axle. The axle and boot come as a complete unit. Please let me know what you find out.

Chevrolet impala 2002 wheel noise

If it's a clunking noise during turns and manuevers, it is probably your intermediate steering shaft. It is a known problem, and is easily fixed if you have a bit of patience. The proper way to fix it is to remove the shaft (the shaft that links your steering wheel to the rest of the linkage for steering) and cram new grease into it until it is squirting out the other end. This will fix it for a few years or permanently. A short term fix, which is easier and does not require any removal of parts is to get a can of spray stuff (I can't recall what it's called, but there are a few out there) which is basically lube, pull away the boot that coveres the shaft and spray most of the can into it. This will fix the clunk also, but for a shorter period of time. If it comes back, you will need to repeat the spray, or get it re-worked correctly.
