Far as I know that only applies to Notebook PC's.

However, what is your interpretation George?

About as close as you're going to get, IMHO, is to unplug the computer from power, FOLLOW Anti-Static Procedures, open the computer case, and remove the CMOS Battery.

Press the Power On button in, and hold it in for a count of 10 seconds. Let go. Repeat same procedure 2 more times.

Replace the CMOS battery, close the computer cover, plug back into power. WAIT 1 minute, turn the computer on.

Try doing a power flee.. that is..

remove the power cable from the computer and all the usb devices if connected and the then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds and then try rebooting the computer.

Another possibility is that.. computer is not able to find the boot sector on the harddisk due to which its not able to turn on completely.

Another possibility is that the device boot order of the computer might have changed too in the BIOS. To resolve it easily we need to chat with each other, so reach us at hnetworking.com

Your computer is not POSTing, the best solution is to get warranty support on it.

The other option is to take it to a computer technician and he/she will diagnose the faulty component. They have access to many computer components and can determine the fault by a process of elimination.

I have a dell optiplex 755 there is a blinking orange or amber light when i press the power button can you help me please...

kcvictory

If you are getting a blinking amber light this is normally related to a power problem. So the first thing I would try resetting the flee power. You do this by unplugging the AC power and holding the power button in for 30 to 45 seconds. After you do this plug back in the AC power to see if the system will boot. If it will not the next thing I would look for is the diag lights to see if any are lite up. They are normally near the front USB unless you have a small form factor case then they are on the back. Then will point to a hard ware problem if any. If they are not lite up then most likely the problem is with the powersupply.

Note if you are still in warranty I would pass this info over to Dell and they should be able to get your system fixed.

Let me know if you have any more problems or questions.
