Question about Zojirushi Kitchen Appliances - Others

Open Question

Zojirushi bbccS15 I got this machine used. Its worked great except recently it went through the dough cycle (I only use dough cycle) and I came back to the machine and nothing had been mixed at all. I HEARD some turning, and the cycle completed, but no mixing. The next time I used it it worked fine, and then the last time I used it it did the same thing where it cycled through, made sounds, but nothing was mixed at all. Please tell me the most likely problem and what I need to do to fix it if you can, thanks.

SOURCE: makes a bad loose sound when mixing dough

My Breadmakers Hearth was making the same sound, so after taking it apart I found that it was only the Bread Pans "under paddle" that the machine reaches up and connects to to drive the Paddle. I wears loose and wobbles and starts to slip making that banging sound. You can either replace the Bread Pan or like I did INVERT the under paddle (requires removing the C-clamp washer) to extend the life of the Pan and use of the Hearth. Hope this helps you.

SOURCE: Zojirushi BBCC-X20 rubber gasket breakdown

Hi D Daniel,

I'd start by getting a new part. Gaskets can be made from a variety of materials - and different types of rubber, or silicon, will have different characteristics. The manufacturer should be able to provide this information to a concerned consumer.

I'd go to Zojirushi's Support page at (TinyURL'd for brevity)

http://tinyurl.com/3jmx4g

There's a Service & Support link at the top of the page - locations of service centers and the like.

You can also call Zojirushi Customer Service Department - -

800-733-6270, M-F, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PST.

Also here's a TinyURL for the manual download page, just so you have it.

If these don't pan-out (no pun intended, I think), the next place I'd start hunting is eBay.

If I can be of further assistance, let me know. If this solves the issue, please rate it accordingly.

Thanks in-advance for using Fixya.com,

Bread Machine Replacement Parts If you are having problems with your bread machine you may be able to fix it with replacement parts. That is if it is the paddles or the pan you are having problems with. If it is something within the bread machine that is not working properly then you probably won’t have a lot of luck finding these bread machine replacement parts.
Keep in mind the price of the bread machine replacement parts as well. If they are very expensive you will be better off just buying a new bread machine. But, if your bread machine was really expensive and is still in good shape and the replacement parts aren’t that much, then the replacement parts might be a better option for you.
Most bread machines work well for years without the need for replacement parts and many machines have warranties as well. But, if you are having problems then you will need to decide if replacement parts or a new machine are the right option for you. If you need replacement parts then call the manufacturer of your bread machine.

Went thru a complete dough cycle, Turned the machine off. Cleaned the bucket, then went to start another batch. Nothing, no beeps, no lights. Is there a reset?

This happened to me also. What worked for me was to unplug the machine and wait at least an hour, then plug back in. It may reset for you. Good luck

Crust is thick and hard, paddles tear large chunk from bottom of loaf when removed from pan.

unfortunately all bread machines leave the hole in the bottom where the paddle is. some machines leave a bigger hole than others, with the exception of the cuisinart cbk-200 which allows you to remove the dough, then remove the paddle, then reshape and replace the dough....One thing you can try to have a softer, lighter crust is to replace the water in your recipe with the same amount of milk. If the hole in the big hole in the loaf really bothers you I suppose you could remove the dough exactly at the end of the final knead, remove the paddle and replace the dough in the pan...I've never done it but I've certainly considered it! best wishes and happy breadmaking...

I have black spots in my bread dough

I get black smeary streaks in my dough too. I just bought a new machine because this happened in my old one. But, on about my 5th loaf in this new machine, I have little black spots and small smears. This is how my other machine started out and then the smears were thorughout the whole loaf after a month more.
Help, what is this!

Dough does not rise

Make sure you are following the recipe very carefully. You have to have the proper type of four, and yeast. Make sure you are using flour that is called bread flour. This type of flour has higher glutent than cake flour. Cake flour would make a heavier bread.

As for the yeast, there is a special yeast for bread machines. Regular yeast would be too slow acting for most bread machines.

My breadmaker model BBCC-V20 completes the entire cycle, however the dough does not rise at all! I've tried with brand new ingredients eggs bread flour and yeast. Tried 3 times - no success at all.

Hi ravimalini,

Something is stopping the yeast from acting (fermentation creates to CO2 bubbles that cause the bread to rise). Was the new yeast you used all from the same batch? (sometimes they have bad days at the yeast factory, too). Can you watch when it runs through the cycle, and check for conditions _before_ the dough is supposed to rise? If it heats up much too quickly/soon, the heat can kill the yeast before it get to do it's job.

As for fixing the black plastic base, you'd have to describe what kind of plastic it is, and whether or not you plan to DIY or have it done, is it subject to high temps, etc. For a lot of that stuff, it's easier to get new unless you're going to glue it up yourself, but you should know what you're doing or get help. I'll give you more advice if you give me more information.

Dense, heavy loaves

Hi nanearl,

(A personal aside - my personal experience with home-baked bread is that it tends to be a heavier product - - but that may be because the recipe gets experimented with, and whole grain flours tend to be used rather than bakers flour.)

It sounds like something is stopping the yeast from acting (fermentation creates to CO2 bubbles that cause the bread to rise). Was the yeast you used all from the same batch? (sometimes they have bad days at the yeast factory, too). Can you watch when it runs through the cycle, and check for conditions _before_ the dough is supposed to rise?
