Player not playing

I have a Initial portable dvd player IDM - 1210. when I play a dvd it will play the prevews but if I want to go to the main menue then the screen will go black as if it is loading. it never does. if I allow the previews to run, then at the end the screen will go black as if it is loading the main menue of the movie but it never loads. i have tryed every thing. please help thank you Laura
