Question about Kitchen Ranges
Replaced the control panel because it went blank. Thats ok now but now the oven turns off while in use and comes up with an error message F1E2. If I bang on the control panel with my hand sometimes that works which makes me wonder if something is loose. Even replaced the heat element but still comes up with the error code when I'm using the oven. Sometimes the oven will work for an hour sometimes less. Never know when it will turn off. What else can we try other than buying a new stove. Love this stove and hate to look for another So far this problem has cost almost $600.

SOURCE: oven touchpad doesn't work
sometimes it may just be a build up grease and dirt on the pad over a period of time.try taking it apart as much as possible and cleaning it with some type of spirits and the clean with some eucalyptus oil as both of these have capabilities of breaking down oils and fat.

SOURCE: baking element
oh bleep, right? well, if you're lucky this will get you going again. 1. disconnect power to range. 2. remove back metal cover just above range power cord (usually 5 quarter inch hex screws) 3. look for burnt off wire leading to/from bake element. If yes, 4. strip ends of broken wire and splice with ceramic wire nut if no 4. bad news. replace ERC (electronic range control) you fried something on the board. It's got the clock display and all the electronics behind it.

This I hope will be an easy solution for you. I think you have a circuit breaker tripped or a fuse if you have a fuse panel.. I am guessing you have an old fuse panel. When you have a fuse blown on a 230 volt appliance and you turn a swith on (like your knob) it feeds back to other circuits on the 120 circuits and will make it do crazzzy things, like making lights and clocks work..Regardless if you have fuse or breaker you dont have the 240 volt to run the range..You only have one120 volt leg powering your stove.
