I am in a rented unit, the power went off the other day and now I can't get my aircon split system (no manuals provided) to work again

Normally in your situation I would call the owner and ask for instructions. You could request the owner to send a technician and get it up as a tenant you cannot be denied use of the aircon if that is part of your lease benefit.
We cannot help you much at fixya.com without knowing the make and model number of the aircon unit. Usually with split systems I could suggest you turn the mains power off at the circuit breaker, wait a few seconds and then turn back on. Then go to the internal unit and with remote control start the unit. See if everything comes back to normal.

I am a manager of a 40 yr old townhouse complex in Langley B.C. I have a tenant that is a nightmare, to say the least, this tenant is asking that the suit be totally rewired to meet the electrical code of...

I'm not sure of the laws in B.C,as they seem to change from province to province and from year to year.
However I do know that my in-laws recently had to redo their wiring (60 year old home).
The biggest problem they had with the old wiring was that you could only run a few light bulbs/one appliance at a time,as there wasn't enough power.
My MIL kept complaining that she was getting shocks from the stove as well.Seems that there were some grounding issues.
Your best bet is to try bcbuildinginfo.com. They should have the answers you are seeking.
I would also consult with an electrician as they should know the laws there.
Perhaps run a quick test or two/check for faulty wiring, to pacify the tenants.
Check with your insurance company as well to see if the building meets their specifications.
Good luck with your tenant.

Try simple green. It is great at eating through grease. It may take a few times but it works. It is biodegardable. I used it at one of my old jobs for cleaning grease off of glass and use it in my home as well.

New Dryer was purchased -- Tenant tells me he now requires higher voltage

Hello Paulcolletti,
I am not sure what you mean with your question.. Electric dryers typically use either 3 pole or 4 pole plugs that mate with the corresponding receptacle. If you already had an electric dryer there before, you need to make sure your power cord matches the receptacle. If it does not, most home goods stores ( like Home Depoit/ Lowes) and others carry the molded cord sets for that application and are reasonably easy to install. I fail to understand the low voltage versus high voltage comment as it pertains to a dryer. Please elaborate on this and maybe I can assist with a solution.. Good Luck...
