Similar problem...I came up with a solution with
help from Onyko. For my receiver, at least, the bottom line was that
the output from the equalizer MUST go to 'Receiver, Tape In'! Since
that is the ONLY input source from the equalizer, you must combine
elsewhere. Part of my setup included the Radio Shack Audio/Video
Selector box which costs $21.99...you might not need it, but in my
case, I couldn't plug all components into the back of the receiver and
have them go through the equalizer.
Since I have a satellite receiver, DVD player and TV, that I want to route through the equalizer, here is the way mine is set up and working:
Satellite receiver and DVD player out to Radio Shack audio/video selector
Audio/video selector out to VCR in.
VCR video directly to TV
VCR audio red/white (audio) out to equalizer
Equalizer out to Receiver Tape IN (Receiver Out not used)
Hope this (or a variation of it) helps.

The problem is that Atlec Lansing used a low quality (piece of ****) plug/interface for the dock. If you pull the top of the ipod forward while it is pressed fully onto the docking station, you'll get a surprise. It will work. This problem stumped me for days. Now, the next question is how much tension is the proper amount not to degrade the cheap plug further or damage the ipod itself.

I bought this Charge Converter from CableJive. It allows me to charge my iPhone 3g on many accessories that would not normally charge the newer models and has successfully fixed the issue with my H+K Dock. I definitely recommend checking them out.

I can tell you that I have the on stage micro, bought this past winter. And it does charge my iPhone 3G. Works great, I love it.

The original SoundDock will not charge the iPod touch 2nd gen, or the iPhone 3G, or the new nano either. This is because Apple changed the way their new iPod products charge. (via USB only now)
There is 1 solution- Call Bose tech support. They can replace the 30 pin metal connector for a new one that will charge this. If this is not under warranty, it will cost $99, but it's worth it. New 1 year warranty, and compatibility with all iPods (except much older- non-clickwheel iPods)
