Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

Logic3 Jivebox I have recently purchased an ipod touch gen 3 but it does not seem to work with my logic 3 Jivebox speakers. The mp3 connection works fine but when I insert my ipod into the dock it says it cannot charge and the music plays but no sound is heard.

SOURCE: Connect Bose 901 VI EQ to a Harmon Kardon AVR 247 Amp

Similar problem...I came up with a solution with help from Onyko. For my receiver, at least, the bottom line was that the output from the equalizer MUST go to 'Receiver, Tape In'! Since that is the ONLY input source from the equalizer, you must combine elsewhere. Part of my setup included the Radio Shack Audio/Video Selector box which costs $21.99...you might not need it, but in my case, I couldn't plug all components into the back of the receiver and have them go through the equalizer.

Since I have a satellite receiver, DVD player and TV, that I want to route through the equalizer, here is the way mine is set up and working:

Satellite receiver and DVD player out to Radio Shack audio/video selector

Audio/video selector out to VCR in.

VCR video directly to TV

VCR audio red/white (audio) out to equalizer

Equalizer out to Receiver Tape IN (Receiver Out not used)

Hope this (or a variation of it) helps.

SOURCE: speakers won't work when Ipod is docked

The problem is that Atlec Lansing used a low quality (piece of ****) plug/interface for the dock. If you pull the top of the ipod forward while it is pressed fully onto the docking station, you'll get a surprise. It will work. This problem stumped me for days. Now, the next question is how much tension is the proper amount not to degrade the cheap plug further or damage the ipod itself.

Cheers,
Jeff

SOURCE: My Ipod touch won't charge, it plays music

I bought this Charge Converter from CableJive. It allows me to charge my iPhone 3g on many accessories that would not normally charge the newer models and has successfully fixed the issue with my H+K Dock. I definitely recommend checking them out.

SOURCE: our sound dock does not charge our ipod touch 2nd

The original SoundDock will not charge the iPod touch 2nd gen, or the iPhone 3G, or the new nano either. This is because Apple changed the way their new iPod products charge. (via USB only now)
There is 1 solution- Call Bose tech support. They can replace the 30 pin metal connector for a new one that will charge this. If this is not under warranty, it will cost $99, but it's worth it. New 1 year warranty, and compatibility with all iPods (except much older- non-clickwheel iPods)

I need to open the casing on a logic3 wip027a ipod speaker system. i have removed all 4 srews from the back in each corner but there seems to be some lind of fixing holding the centre of the unit. how

Hi, I opened a Logic3 I-station today (dark grey and silver), and there are LOTS of screws for each side.
- on the side where the line in and DC adapter sockets are, there are 4 Phillips screws including 3 hidden behind rubber covers.
- you need to remove them all.
- for the other side there are 2 at the bottom and a few more on the back under rubber covers.
- but no more other hidden screws.

Then you need to be BRAVE because the bottom and short side are clipped at the bottom.
- you have to lever the front off quite hard to get the clips to release.
- The side without the DC input came off easier, because it has just a speaker in it (and nothing broke.)
- The side with the DC input connected came off and broker the speaker wires away from the speaker because the speaker cable was glued to the back where the ferrite bead is.

Then you should be in, and see the 2 PCBs on front right and nothing but speaker front left.

Hope this helps.

Have a iPod touch 2nd Gen replaced a touch screen that did not work on the bottom of the screen. You could not get the space bar to work now with a new touch screen the side of it will not work ???

Either you have purchased a defective digitizer or the connection from the digitizer to the logic board are not contacting as they should be. Remove the new digitizer and check all the teeth (connections on both sides) and see if any are bent or missing.

How to Replace screen and digitizer for iPod touch 4th gen.

iPod Touch 4th Generation:
iPod Touch 4th Generation: Heat the surrounding edges of the iPod for 30 seconds
Begin at the bottom corner...used a straight blade to pry the glass up slowly; the LCD will come with it since they are fused together.
When you get closer to the top be very careful since the wifi cable is normally sticking to the glass. If it is use a small screw driver to detach it from the glass. The wifi cable is on the opposite side of the power button.
There is one flex cable (LCD) that can be removed; just a slight twist and it should pop off easily.
The other flex cable (Digitizer) is under the logic board and since you'd be replacing it you can cut this flex cable to work with more ease.
Remove the eight screws on the metal plate.
Remove the metal cover over the camera...screw driver on the very edge and pop up...do not use much force or dig at it since it would be very easy to destroy the camera.
To remove the metal plate that covers the batter: bottom left corner... dig your screw driver in (shallow) then push through horizontally until you reach the edge and lift the end of the screw driver upwards...using this method will allow the speaker to stay in place and the metal plate to separate.
Remove the top three screws
Put a screw driver between the logic board and the power flex cable as you gently lift the logic board up on that side...this method will ensure you don't rip the POWER flex cable
Do not lift aggressively...both cameras must be lifted gently, the adhesive is not that strong but there are some there.
The power and volume flex cable connection to the logic board is near the volume buttons, be extremely careful not to damage the connection when lifting the logic board.
Remove the copper tape surrounding the connection for the digitizer and install new digitizer.
Follow steps in reverse.
Good Luck

I have an ipod touch(1st gen) and i have updated 2nd gen on my ipod touch and the problem is that after updating my ipod bluetooth is not working so can you please tell me that how can i work with...

Apple seems to be having a issue with this upgrade and no help to its user (of course) as of yet.
What seems to be working for some is perform a wireless reset you'll have to re-enter your WEP key. In doing so it should reset both your Bluetooth at the same time your
WIFI connection. Hope it helps.
But up till now theres no solution to this problem from the upgrade stand point From Apple.

My Alpine CDA-9884E shows NO SONG when my iPOD touch 32G is connected. Other ipods work, my Touch works fine on it own and in docks. ??

Same has happened to mine - was working fine. I've got alpine x-001 and 64gb ipod touch. My 4th gen works fine....

Looking around, it seems to be a common problem. Lot's of stuff on i lounge about this. seems to be the software update (that we can't roll back either....) and now the next problem is how to do this.

Cannot play external speakers

Try firmly pressing the iPod into the dock connector. If it works, good. If it doesn't, then your iPod may not have support for the speakers.
