Question about Samsung HL-P4667W 46" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

No picture on my Samsung HL-P4667W

When I push the button on the remote or the TV itself, the lamp light flashes and the lamp does come on. There is no picture and I cannot access the menu and the screen remains blank while the lamp light flashes. When I push any button on the remote the tuner light on the front of the TV flashes but nothing happens. Normally I can see the Component 1 or 2 and the other display choices in the upper left hand of the screen. Also if the signal is low there will be a display on the screen. I get nothing. After a few minutes the lamp light stops flashing and the lamp itself in the TV turns off. The standby temp light on the front of the TV is on all the time. Thanks for any help Mike One Rev

Exact problem, lamp comes on, no picture, lamp light flashes.

remove the lamp and with a light and or mirror look where the front of the lamp faces--there is a color wheel there--if it is shattered or damaged the set will not come on--most of these sets have a high pitched whine or grinding noise if this happens---the wheel is available on the internet and a moderate job to replace--I have seen lots of them bad---if you want an idea of what it looks Steve

No picture or sound after replacing lamp

Possible bad color wheel...

Pull the lamp out & look inside where the lamp sends the light-

does the color wheel look defective? If so,replace it.

Or, the lamp ballast may be bad. After that, usually replace
