If your motherboard is compatible with pentium and other processor, should you upgrade it to higher processor, then you must not change your motherboard. However, there are instances that you need to replace the whole thing except you have a MANLI motherboard that can be compatible with dual core, pentium
core2 duo and other processors according to its specifications.
Just check with the computer providers what best motherboard and processor suited for your use.
