Question about Garmin StreetPilot C330 GPS Receiver

No signal Hardly used one year old c330. It doesn't work and shows "Acquiring Satellites" with a question mark (?) in the center of screen. It worked perfectly fine until this happened although I use it rarely. I did pressed "re-set" button under front cover, but that has no effect.

Re: No signal

I had the same problem: the C330 was working fine for about a month the it suddenly had great difficulty aquiring satellites. The software update was the correct fix. Follow this link to get the 5.70 update:

Re: No signal

Be sure to update I updated to 5.50 and had the same problem. Garmin has just released 5.70 to fix the sattelite aquisition problem.

Re: No signal

My C330 acted the same way. I updated the software and pushed the reset twice and it once again came to life. Before it quit, I had updated the software previously, so I think the software may have had a clitch in it.

Garmin c330 says trouble tracking satelites, not acquiring signal. what to do?

If your StreetPilot c300 or c500 series device is no longer acquiring satellites please read the article linked below to ensure that this is not being caused by something in your environment:

Why won't my unit acquire satellites?

If after reading the above article your unit is still having problems, please ensure that your unit's software is up to date. You can do this by using our WebUpdater® program.

If you have tried all of the above suggestions and your unit is still not acquiring satellites, you can perform a master reset by doing the following:

Note: A master reset will erase all waypoints or favorites and will restore your unit to the default factory settings.
  1. Start with the unit powered OFF and unplugged from power.
  2. Touch and hold the bottom right corner of the touchscreen.
  3. Power the unit ON and continue pressing the screen until a new message displays, "Do You Really Want To Erase All User Data?".
  4. Touch Yes and go through the set up again.
Take the unit outside and let it set with a clear view of the sky for 3-5 minutes to acquire satellites. If the unit still does not acquire satellites after this, please contact Garmin Product Support.

How  OTRdriver's solution worked for me to clear up my StreetPilot C330 when it...

1- Turn off unit.  2- press and hold the bottom right corner of the screen. 3-While still pressing and holding bottom right corner, press and hold power button and continue holding both until a white screen appears with a black dot. 4- follow the on screen directions and your unit will be back to the day you first got it.

My Garmin c330 has difficulty acquiring satellites in my new 2009 Camry XLE. Does it have something to do with Bluetooth? Does it interfere? Ever since we bought the 2009 Camry XLE in June, the Street...

The C330 does not have bluetooth capability. Regardless, this has nothing to do with the unit's ability to acquire satellites. Nor should the type of vehicle you purchased, unless the unit is unable to receive due to some feature, like something in the windshield, which is preventing the unit from receiving a proper signal. Does the unit work outside the vehicle?

New Garmin 330 stuck on kansas

Take the unit outside and turn it on. Then select View Maps, at the top of the screen it will say either "Locating satellites" or "Acquiring Satellites". Once the garmin has locked onto the overhead satellites, then it will say "Ready to Navigate".

Locating Satellites take longer than Acquiring Satellites.

Aquiring satellites

Are you outside with a clear view of the sky? It should find satellites once the unit is turned on. Does it say "Looking for satellites" or "Acquiring satellites"?

If it is "looking for satellites" then it means that the unit have lost all data (time, date, location). If it is "acquiring satellites" then it have date and time, but not location.

Looking for satellites require a longer setup time (could be as much as 15 minutes). Acquiring satellites is much faster (not more than 2 minutes).

Date and time is updated from satellites once the unit gets a satellite lock.

No signal

There are three forms of resets on the unit.

The first is the reset under the front face plate. The second is where you hold the power button for a long time (30 seconds).

The last and potentially warranty voiding solution is to pull off the front face plate. Remove the four tiny philips head screws. The front face plate can now be lifted off. There you will see a battery and a little connector with 2 or 3 wires attached to it. Disconnect it. Wait a while... 30 seconds.... 30 minutes... overnight.... and plug it back in.

I've read some reports about the web updater software flaking out, so I recommend flashing through the SD card slot if possible.
