DVP3140 not playing JPEG images in the sub folder

Hi, We have collected the photographs from the canon camera, created folders and burnt in a DVD. If we play the DVD in DVP3140, some of the folders photographs are playing in the DVD player and some of the folders in the DVD are not showing anything, What could be the reason, how to fix this?

When attempting to burn project in MY DVD8 an error appears 800402007 while encoding. I am therefor unable to burn disc

Generally, defragmenting your hard disk will resolve this issue. To defragment your computer:
  1. Go to Start--> Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> Disk Defragmenter.
  2. When the Disk Defragmenter window opens, choose Defragment.

If defragmentation doesn't resolve the issue, burn your project as a data file, and then burn your project as a data disc using Disc Copier or Creator Classic. To create a disc image/data file:

  1. After clicking the Burn button, the Burn Project window opens.
  2. You have two data burning options:
    • Image file - this option will save your project as an .ISO file. To burn this file you will need to use the Burn Image option in Creator's Copy section.
    • Folder Set - burning a folder set will create a Video_TS folder that you can burn using Creator Classic. Burning a folder set to DVD will create a fully functional DVD. Do NOT rename the Video_TS folder other wise it will not play! Simply place it in a folder that is the name of your project if you need to keep track.

Tip: Either of the above options are a great way to not only back up your projects, but make multiple copies to reduce encoding time!

Similar Issue happen to one of my client what we have done is putting the JPEG files into folders (Not Subfolder). It worked well however some JPEG images being skipped if the size is unusual. JPEG images will appear as tracks. Hope this will be helpful. If issue persist please post once more. Also let me know if WMA files are being played.

Good Luck

Will my DVD 300 play photos recorded on a CD-R disc?

Yes it should, as it supports JPEG file playback.
Create a folder on your desktop, drag and drop the photos you want onto it and then burn the folder onto a CD-R.
Alternatively, most Photo software allows you to create a CD from your photo collection.
Photos must be in the JPEG format (pretty much the default and most common file format used for photos).

Can not connect to window 7 pc. The BP-3600 can connect to the router and out the internet but not the pc. I tried both auto and manual. The error message I get for the auto mode user and password...

I quote a comments from Microsoft Support:

This can occur if there is a folder permissions issue or some settings within the Blu Ray Player which might cause this. It could also be the security program blocking the share.

A few things you can try is creating a separate shared folder on the desktop rather than using the shared documents and then try accessing it from the player.

You can also try to disable your firewall and security program and then try accessing the shared folder.

Try turning off user account control and check.

You might also be able to resolve the problem by taking ownership of the folder.

To take ownership of a folder

1. Right-click the folder that you want to take ownership of, and then click Properties.

2. Click the Security tab, click Advanced, and then click the Owner tab.

3. Click Edit. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

4. Click the name of the person you want to give ownership to.

5. If you want that person to be the owner of files and subfolders in this folder, select the Replace owner on sub containers and objects check box.

6. Click OK."

My Sony BDP S 300 won't play a Blu Ray DVD but will play a regular DVD

I suggest that you install the latest firmware update to resolve the issue. Please click here to download the latest firmware update.
It is recommended to use CD -R disc to create the firmware update disc.
I hope you're clear with downloading the update from support page.

Once you download and save the file in the folder in the computer, you can double click the file to extract. You will be prompted to save the UPDATE_BDPS300_VER0550.ISO file in a folder. Most of the customers will be making mistake here after...

We need to use a burning software which is capable to burning discs from ISO images. ISO image is nothing but a RAW format of burned image.
I will give you the instructions to burn using Nero.. Steps will be almost same in all ISO capable software.
Open installed nero software from computer. You may locate it under Start Menu programs. Go to File Menu (Some times you will get a wizard where you can select the Image Burning option or burn ISO option) Navigate the extracted .ISO file we saved in the computer. follow the onscreen instructions. Insert the disc when ever Nero asked to insert
Hope this helps. If you need any assistance. Please get back to me. I will be more than happy to assist you. Thanks for understanding.

Can I copy photos to a DVD and have it work in a TV? Can I put .jpeg files on a DVD and then put it in a DVD player and have the photos displayed on the TV?

Most DVD players made since 1999 are .JPG compatible.
Create your DVD in the computer, without folders...just drag & drop the pic files to the disk for burning, and insure the burner is set to "Finalize" the disk just like making any movie disk.
Your DVD player will recognize the files, and play them in slideshow format.

Creating DVDs to play on DVP 5960

Best solution I've found to the "out of order" problem is to copy all the files I want on the CD to a temporary folder and then rename each with a number. If you have 100 or more pictures, start out with the first one you want displayed with 001, and so on. Secondly, if you want to create a Jpeg DVD, you need video editing software. Personally, I use Sony Vegas but there are other, less expensive, options.
