Canon MP600R printer won't work with wireless

I have a Canon MP600P printer, a NETGEAR WGR613VAL wireless router and an iMac. The printer is working fine with USB and LAN but I can't get it to work with the wireless network. When I log on the scanner with the browser it says that the Signal Level is 0% and the Link Quality also is 0%. I also removed the wireless encryption on the router and reset the printer LAN settings, but it still won't work.

Does anybody have the problem?

If the printer is connected via wireless it may not be set up correctly, as a network printer.
Connect it up via a USB cable to make sure it works, then change it to Wireless configuration and re-install it as a network not a USB printer.

Set a static IP on the Canon printer
e.g.
IP: 192.168.x.x
Subnet mask: 255.255.x.x
Gateway: 192.168.X.1

DHCP should always be enabled on the router for your other devices to work.

Poor Wireless Printer Connection
Yes move the printer closer to the router or vice-versa, or make sure their are no microwaves between the router and printer. Chordless phones, thick mason or plaster walls can also hurt the signal range...Good Luck

Canon mp600r keeps giving error code 300
  1. Delete  the printer in the preferences panel.
  2. Create a new printer in the same panel, using the tab More printers
  3. You will see that url on the general tab of the printer, changes from usb... to bjnp... this is what the mac likes.. 

No problems from this point forward..
