SOURCE: How do you adjust the stitch length on Consew 226 R-1?

if it is like the other industrial machines I've used, here is the general principle:

On the machine there is a button with no label. Hold button while turning the handwheel toward you. When you feel the button depressl you can adjust the length. Hold the button in the machine and crank the hand wheel back to decrease the length of ths titch and foward to increase it. I usually put a notch on the fly wheel for my standard length with some nailpolish. Release the button and sew to test the length.

I need to adjust my baby lock and just can not understand how it works, the tension Dial with the Blue,Green,Orange,Yellow and purple, What is the right tension for light weight Fabric for the side sea

Try setting up your machine with the 4 different thread colors as the guide--use yellow thread in the yellow guide, blue in the blue, etc. This is a good way to figure out what is not working with your tension dials. To start out with a 4-thread stitch, set the tension dials at the midway point on each and then test your stitch. You should be able to see which thread colors are off. If one color is wrapping over the edge of the fabric, then that tension is too loose and the opposite thread may be too tight. The tensions are correct when the threads meet in the middle of the fabric. It's a matter of sitting down and playing with it to see what happens when you make changes to the settings. Also, one particular setting that works on a particular fabric may not work on another, so learning how to test and adjust is a big part of using a serger.

As for stitch length, that is mostly a personal decision. The shorter the stitch length, the closer the stitches will be.

Rimoldi serger Hi I have a 629 Rimoldi serger and

I have a Rimoldi 629 and to rethread the back part with the tube ...
you take of the front of the thread plate there is 2 screws...
then look down the left hand side you will see a dial ...
you need to take the 2 or 3 screws out of that panel and the dial actually holds it on just undo the dial a bit ...
you need to get some wire and thread it through the tube ... when it reaches the end of the tube make a tiny loop so that when you thread the back tension disk you can pull the thread through the tube ....
i have the proper threading guide if anyone need it
My email address is Richardjames1985@hotmail.com just email me and i will send it to you

Hope this all makes sense thanks

How do I adjust the stitch length on a Janome "My Lock" 234?

Is there a dial on the right above the flywheel? This is where you adjust the stitch length on most sergers. It might be numbered from 0 to 5 or 4.

tally_girl_23.jpg
If it has differential feed, there would be a dial there for this too, possibly under the stitch length knob - it would have numbers like -1, -0.5, 0, 0.5 and 1 on it.

If you are new to sergers/overlockers I highly recommend a class, demonstration or investing in a good book to get you started as they are not like sewing machines and many of the techniques are best demonstrated such as rolled thread edging and flat lock seams.

I've borrowed he Singer book "Sewing with an overlocker", or "Serge with Confidence" by Nancy Zieman from my library but there would be other titles too.

How to adjust stitch width on babyloc eclipse lx serger

Here is the info about this serger from the baby lock's website. It says the stitch length is a dial. I couldn't find the manual for download, but they say they stand behind their products with support. I would follow the customer support link at the bottom of the page and request a user manual. It looks like they sell an instuctional video and optional workbook too. Might be worth the price to help you get the most out of your seger. Hope this helps!

I was given a Huskylock 430 serger and need to know if someone can tell me the correct tensions.

There are really not any #s you can set to give a good stitch. You have to just use the #s as a guide. Most sergers from the factory will give you something decent around 4 across the board. Start there and make slight adjustments as needed. It also depends on the stitch and type of material used.
