Try clicking the Alt button and the F10 button at the same time right after you turn the laptop on, and see if it will go into the System Recovery mode. If it will, just follow the instructions for a partial or complete system recovery.

Based on whats really going on you will have to do one of the following solutions:

1.)Reinstall windows (this will cause you to lose data)

2.)Reboot the computer press F8 and try to enter safe mode. If you can enter safe mode then try to run SFC (system file checker). To do so goto start run type cmd that will take you to command prompt once there type in sfc /scannow and make sure your windows disk is in. This may help you out.

3.)All else fails phone support is aviable thu my company 3 8 6 8 4 8 7 1 15.

How to reformat aspire 5920

If you have the factory CD's you can yous that to reformat and install all defaults. If not, you can use a bootable Windows CD. Boot to the cd (pressing F12 as soon as the computer turns on and selecting Boot to CD)

You can the use the Windows CD to format the drive and re-install Windows.

Hope that helps. Please comment and rate if it does.

Thanks,

My Acer Aspire 5920 won't do a recovery

BSOD is caused by hardware error or driver error. Disconnect all hardware except the basic. Motherboard, monitor, memory, hard drive. Unplug the wireless, cd/dvd drive.
Start the computer and see if the the BSOD returns. If not, one by one add components until you see the BSOD.
If you continue to see this screen without any hardware attached, then you most likely have an onboard component failing. (audio/video/memory failure)
Download and run the MS DART cd and check hardware starting with memory then hard drive.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/enterprise/products/mdop/dart.aspx

This should determine what device is failing, except video or audio.

Acer asire 5920 wont boot up cant get to windows to type anything in just a black screen asking for password or harddisk password. have acer aspire 5920 system disk it works asks for recovery disk 2 runs a...

For the psswords i can recomend to reset them from BIOS but to do that you must first know them. The problem with recovery disks is solvable if you boot from an XP disc and format the C: partition in NTFS file sistem and when it starts copying files to install the windows stop the installation ( F3 or press the power button for more than 4 seconds.. don't worry you will not sustain disk damage... done it myself with the same notebook for a dozen times ) After formatting the partition C: try recovery again and it will work.
NOTE: for the formatting of the partition you must set the HDD mode from AHCI to ATA witch permits the XP setup utility to "see" the HDD. If it is set in AHCI mode the setup utility for windows XP will not detect youre HDD

Windows boot manager problem acer aspire 5920

Creating recovery discs After setting up the computer for the first time, be sure to create a set of recovery discs of the full factory image. the recovery discs are used to start up (boot) the computer and recover the operating system and software to factory settings in case of system instability or failure.

The User Profile Service failed at login

Sounds like a vista problem. Have youtried to boot into safe mode? You can do that by oressing f8 during boot up and selecting safe mode from the menu.

If you can I would try to back up your docs, etc and maybe create a new user account.

There is also a boot repair in vista that I think comes up with the safe mode menu, so you might try that.

Hope this helps
