Question about Dell Studio Computers & Internet
I have a dell studio 1535 it is perhaps 4 years old. whenever i start the computer up it goes to a screen to select safe mode normal mode etc. no matter what mode i go into it eventually does some scans and boots up, once i log in the first click that i do freezes the computer, any window that was active that i clicked on is now not responding, no buttons or mouse works i can;t get the start pop-up menu to check anything. the only way to turn it off is holding the power button down. i need my laptop for invoicing and work so i really need this fixed if not i need to buy something else asap. thanks in advance
The operating system XP or Vista it is always possible to do the work to restore the system to a period in which the system was blinded well

first, ensure your system restore is turned on and make a restore point right now!...assuming you have run a thorough disk check and de-frag. then, trust the system restore. I have used it with success 100% of the 20 or so times I have used it. Next, start using the "Hibernate" power down mode. I have found this to work wonders with third-party driver problems. It seems that once a good startup happens, then freeze it (and continue to get a good startup) with hibernate from then on. Last, check about every month for the quantity of restore points that have taken place automatically by Windows. Sometimes, depending on the size of the hard drive, too many points can begin to encroach on your free space that you want for virtual memory or data. So for example, I see 15 restore points in the last month, I will dlete them all by cancelling system restore. Then I use "clean disk" scandisk and defrag. Then I turn restore back on.

what is your operating system?
For vista, click here
For xp, click here
Follow the basic steps for improving your system performance. See this link and this link. Use msconfig or the system configuration utility to keep your startup apps to a minimum. Then consider the possibility that you could have malware inadvertently installed on your system, and follow the protocols outlined here to carry out the first 5 steps to scan your computer for malware. Allow mbam to remove any problems it finds.
If you follow these steps and still have issues, write back with the results and we'll be happy to help you sort it out...
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!
