My Solara Dsc radio, which has worked well for several years, suddenly began blowingthe 2 amp fuse on the red power line whenever the transmit button was pushed on the mic. Why?

No worries here.
According to Uniden, the 6 amp fast blow fuse is the correct one.
Not entirely sure why there'd be a 2 amp with your old radio, but I suspect the radio is good.

Can not program pmr

Hi,

I\'ve just finished trying to solve, without much luck, another Chinese made radio problem.

Firstly, can you decipher Chinglish to English, if so your one step closer than me in fixing, stuffing the problem.

Secondly, do you have the user manual?

If not, try your best to get a copy, and have someone who can read and translate Chinese to English, so you can follow the steps required to program these nasty little buggers.

I hope this is of some use to you, Sorry if I make these radios sound bad, But nothing made in China has been a success with me including their cars which are available here in Oz.

Good luck and I hope you find someone to translate for you.

Cheers,
Peter

How can I make the 19DXIV VHF capable

There is no way to make that radio VHF capable, CB radio's operate in the AM band, and most, if not all VHF radio's operate in the FM band. CB radio's are not capable of VHF frequencies either, VHF is considered around 40MHz and above, CB radio's operate between 26.965 MHz and 27.405MHz that is considered 11 meter band HF. CB radio's are not broadbanded enough to cover anything that far away, expecially the newer radio's, as most of them are controlled via a microcontroller and PLL tuning circuit. the 19DXIV is a great little radio, but will never be able to operate in or even around VHF. sorry.

Radio turns on , channels change, but no sound or squelch..

It sounds like your vhf speaker has failed. I recommend taking your radio to a repair shop and replacing the speaker...this should solve your problem.
