SOURCE: Samsung model: LE46B530P7W, Model code:

Do you mean that your television shuts itself off completely after 20 minutes of working normally?

Does the small power indicator light on the front change color when this happens or does it shut off completely as well?

Does the sound stay on when the picture turns off, or does it go off too?

Can you restart the television right away when this happens, or do you have to wait a while or unplug the set before it will power up again?

Most often, this symptom is a result of a failing POWER SUPPLY, but a bad / overheating LCD CONTROLLER BOARD, or a faulty INVERTER BOARD can certainly cause very similar symptoms. Unfortunately, without a donor TV or a dedicated test rig, it can be very difficult to differentiate between these problems.

One way to test this is to remove the rear access panel on the TV and replace the power supply circuit board with a new one, since this is the most often the source of the trouble.

You can usually find a replacement power supply circuit board on Ebay by searching for your TV's model number. Although I do not see one currently available at this time, the online inventory selection does change daily.

The repair / replacement procedure is not extremely difficult if you have some basic electrical safety knowledge and some basic electronics / mechanical repair skills.

You will need to unplug the power cord from the unit, lay the TV screen side down on something soft and flat like a bed, and then remove the rear access panel or the entire rear cover as required in order to access the circuit boards inside.

When you remove the rear cover and access the circuit boards inside, just check the part number that is printed right on your power supply circuit board itself and confirm that it exactly matches the one provided in the Ebay listing.

Then unclip and remove the various electrical wire connectors leading to the power supply circuit board. Then remove the screws securing the circuit board to the TV frame and then remove the power supply circuit board. Be sure to avoid touching any large capacitors on the circuit board which can retain a nasty charge even after the unit is unplugged.

Then just screw in the new circuit board and connect all the wire bundles to their appropriate connectors on the new circuit board and then replace the rear cover. Then plug in the power cord and test.

If you want to replace the LCD Controller board (otherwise known as a TCON board), the process is not much different except for the connectors which are usually the flat ribbon type.

Please comment back here to this page if you have any details to add, have any questions, have difficulty with the links, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.

I hope that was helpful to you, good luck.

Joe.

SOURCE: Samsung plasma appears to overheat and displays

may be the fans are blocked or malfunction.
Don`t continue using if is overheat, you can broken others parts.
I recommend clean the TV, put the blower or aspirator near the vents air (slots for ventilation).

If you can dissamble the TV, remove the fan and check it or replace.

You can buy it at your service center

Sound like a problem with your LCD screen, related with the CCD Image Sensor; since that you can view mode and setting displays, isnt the LCD screenviewer.

The CCD Image Sensor isnt a job that you can do it, I suggest visit your techinician service or apply if has underwarranty.

Good luck.

I have a samsung that the screen was pink now, black with sound??

What you describe is a classic symptom of burned out fluorescent tubes in the display. I'm assuming this tv is a LCD model...Unseen by the user, there are long, thin, extremely bright, fluorescent tubes along the edges(usually top and bottom) which light up a backscreen so you have a vivid image to look at. (sort of like how a doctor views xray pictures) As the tubes age, they change color and eventually burn out. An excellent example of the same technology is a laptop display or desktop lcd display--same exact design. Hopefully your unit is under warranty because this is an involved repair *if* it can be done. Most often, the whole lcd display unit must be replaced. Definitely shop around for repair facilities if non-warranty is a factor.

Sound yes, but no picture on tv

If you have sound on the stations this is a problem in the display. Take bright flashlight and hold it against the screen. Look for an image around the edge of the flashlight. If you see an image then it's one of three problems;
1) The inverter board is bad.
2) The CCFT (cold cathode fluoresent light) are bad.
3) The power supply to the inverter board is bad.
Someone knowledgeable in electronics can replace the bad part(s).
