Get some WD-40 and spray the area around the nut then let it sit for a few hours. This will get into the threads and loosen any rust that is compounding your problem. Now get a good wrench and look directly at the nut. Left is loose and Right is tight.

Hi these are usually the opposite way to which the blade turns but you may have to use a rattle gun to remove this. If you have a look at the thread you should be able to determine which way it comes off. Just remember to fix the blade so it wont turn and take your fingers off.
