Question about Computers & Internet
It would be helpful if we knew the Acer Model and the OS you are using. Over time, with added software, programs that want to startup at boot, will slow down the Machine. Also junk will accumulate causing errors and wasting HDD space. There are a couple of basic freeware programs to start with. 1, CCLEANER: http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ This freeware program has many useful tools, the cleaner and the registry scans will remove junk and free up HDD space, use it often. 2, In the TOOLS section, select STARTUP, disable ALL unnecessary startup programs to speed up starts and running. Also download MALWAREBYTES: http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/ In the install, UNCHECK the Trial Pro version, you want the freeware version. Run a FULL scan, delete ALL results, reboot. I don't know your OS so I'll post a Win 7 suggestion. Her are more tips: http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/10things/10-ways-to-speed-up-windows-7/3332 To speed up your Web Browser, IE?, Open the Control Panel, select Internet Options, open the Programs tab, select Manage add-ons, in Toolbars and Extensions disable ALL unnecessary Toolbars and Extensions, there are killers on browser speed. In Search Providers, select Google as default, check/tick the two boxes in the bottom left, remove ALL others. If you post your Acer model and OS I can assist you further.

You have something running in the background that is eating up the CPU useage. You need to identify which process is doing this.
Use the built in task manager, using ctrl-alt-delete to bring it up, and see which process is at above 90% cpu usage. Then post back here what you find.
