the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: i can't access ther router using 192.168.0.1

Hi Wafula,

Unplug the Dlink, wait 2 min, and plug it back in. If that work, on the back is a small hole, marked RESET. Using a pencil, or straightne out a large paperclip, press that the button inside gently. Hold it for 30 sec. Release and unplug the unit. Shut down the whole network. "Starting from the wall", power up the modem, wait 2 min, power up the Dlink, and power up your machine. Your Dlink should be at default now. Remember to reset you security, change the password, etc.
I have had to do this several times, sometimes unplugging the power, and plugging it back while holding the button. (Got 3 hand?)
Good luck!

SOURCE: Unable to access DLink WBR 2310 Configuration page

Reset the router first, press the reset pinhole on the back for 10 seconds using a paper clip, don't press it too much or it will mess up the settings of the router. then try to access again the configuration page.

I have installed Tenda W301A access point in my home. Only one PC can connects to the access point. If i try to connect other computer, its shows limited connectivity.

I assume you mean there is no internet connection except for one PC. You cannot connect an access point to the internet and distribute the internet access. For this you need a router.

AP does typically also not have a DHCP what would allow several clients at least to connect to each other.

Why doesn't my netgear extender ask for name and password when I try to use it to connect to internet. It tells me that there is an authentication problem

Hi there! smile.gif Please note that the Tenda 150mbps Wireless Range Extender A3 uses a default IP address of 192.168.0.254 - you must set your IP address to the 192.168.0.* range (* = any number between 2 and 253) to login.

The default access username / password (if required) are admin and admin.

Once you've logged in, you can configure the access point to route through your existing wireless router as the default gateway (eg. if your wifi router is 192.168.1.1, then you would route through that, and set your Repeater (Extender) IP to 192.168.1.2 so that you can connect to it and then "relay" your connection through the repeater. It doesn't mirror the connection details for the existing wifi router, it simply creates an "additional" access point to connect through to your existing wifi router - creating a bridge, essentially.

The extender can be linked to the existing wifi router via LAN cable or WDS. For WDS, you will need to set the IP's 1 digit apart in the last segment (see above IP difference), and switch them both in the Wireless menu to ""Wireless Networking Mode: Network Bridge (WDS), but the SSID must remain the same (eg. "Tenda1") for both of them (it doesn't cause a network loopback), and any wireless security authentication must be identical (password / pass phrase / key + encryption algorithm) on both devices. Again, as with the above point, remember to set the gateway of the extender / repeater to that of the primary WiFi router.

this might help for apple users as it worked for me!
i think my problem ocurred after an update to mac software.
my service provider could not resolve it but i did. :)
1) select settings
2) select network
3) view ethernet if it shows a green light and states connected yet you can not connect to any web page or your set up page for TENDA
4) select the apple logo top left of desktop screen
5) select location
6) select Automatic
this is what was stopping my apple mac from connecting even though i could connect ok with iPad.
now try your browser again
7) contact your service provider and get all the details to fill in on your modem/router set up page.
i only have the aus info:

How to install tenda wireless router

Plug in the router and connect it to your computer via a WIRED connection. Connect the cable into the Tenda router in one of the yellow ports labeled 1-4 (which one specifically should not matter).

Open a web browser and go to http://192.168.0.1.

When prompted for a username and password, enter "admin" for the username, and "admin" for the password.

Click "WLAN Settings", then "Basic Settings".

Click "Enable Wireless" if it is not already checked, and enter a new name for your router in the field labeled "SSID". The default name is "Tenda", but you can choose any network name you like, so long as it is made up of only letters and numbers. Leave all other settings on this page at their defaults, and click "Apply".

Now, click "Security Settings".

In "Security Mode", choose a network security type and enter an appropriate password. For demonstration settings, choose "WPA Personal". Make sure "AES" is selected, and then enter in a pass phrase. This will be the password for your wireless network, so be sure to write it down. The default is "PlsChangeMe", so go ahead and change it now. Leave the "Key Renewal Interval" field at its default setting, and click "Apply".

Click on "WPS Settings".

Click "Disable", and then click "Save".

Click "System Tools", then "Change Password". If you want, change the username and password here. You will need to enter the new username where it says "admin", then the old password of "admin" in the Old Password field. Then, enter your new password in the "New Password" field, then again to confirm it.

Close out of the Tenda configuration page.

You have successfully set up your home network. When ready, connect your modem to the router using the blue "WAN" port on the back of the router, and powercycle your modem and router, and internet will then be available on your home network.

Tenda router input eror

It's not the username and password from your ISP. If you try to access your router and you have not changed anything, use the following values:
username = admin
password = admin

Once in the router interface, you will have to configure the router for your DSL-modem (I guess it's DSL since Windstream does not produce cable modems.)
Here fill in the username and password your ISP provided you with.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Trying to set new password for tenda wireless router

you need to access the router's GUI page to change the security key of the routers/
remember, once you change the security key, it should be changed in all the devices you got connected wireless.
you can access the GUI page by typing either 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 (most of the routers have this default setting) in address bar of internet explorer.
you can find the exact numbers by going to start>run>type "cmd">type "ipconfig">enter
you will see the default gateway number which is the one you need to type in a address bar of the internet explorer. (these steps work only if you get the computer connected with the Ethernet cable first to the router)
once you access the gui page, you have an option to change the wireless key under wireless section>security.
need to mention that when you access the GUI page, you will be welcomed by a username and password log in option. the default username and password again is admin in most cases. if it doesn't work ,check with the manual of the router you got.
if you still need more clarifications or steps on this, please reply to the post.

Broadband wireless adapter limited connectivity issues

If the wireless security on the router is enabled, then the pre-shared key or encryption key on the router and PC should match.

To check the wireless settings, use the laptop to access the web interface of the router. Follow the steps below:

1 Using your Internet browser, go to http://dsldevice.lan or to the IP address of your router (by default: 192.168.1.254).
2 On the Home Network menu, click Wireless.
3 In the upper-right corner, click Details.
4 The wireless Access Point page appears. Under:
- Configuration, you can find the network name (SSID).
- Security, you can find the encryption.

On the PC wireless, access the wireless network connection. Select the SSID and then type the encryption key or pre-shared key.

Once the encryption key on the PC and router matches, then you should obtain an IP address and get online.
