Question about Garmin GPSMAP 541s
I have two Garmin 541s units on my G3 center console boat. The rear unit will not read after I plain out. Also the unit shuts itself off. Anyone get a fix on this problem. Wouldn't recommend Garmin on a boat.
First of all it wont read after you plain out and as far as cutting off connect it straight to the battery see if that fix your problem

SOURCE: I have an old Marinetek
Unfortunatly that transducer will not work on the new unit. The sonar sensor is not compatible with this transducer and I would doubt it would even match up to the plug in the Garmin. These units are very propriatory and you will have to use the transducer that came with the machine or one that was specifically designed for the sonar unit. The transducer for your newer unit should be able to mount flush on the hull without having to pull your boat out of the water. These newer units have the capability to see through the hull without having to mount them externally.
