Jeep Rubicon 2007+ locker modification

Make model: Jeep Wrangler Rubicon (JK series) 2007+

Purpose:This allows you to use both lockers in all transfer case modes by providing a ground for the relays. Quantity (2) pieces of (45) foot #12 gauge automotive wire, marked or colored differently from each other.(30) feet of automotive loom(4) #12 gauge electrical crimp flag female connectors (yellow)2) #12 gauge electrical crimp hook connectors (yellow)(2) automotive switches (lighted could be used, but would require another ground)(1) Soldering iron and flux(1) roll black electrical tape(1) small set of metric sockets

Disclaimers:By undertaking this modification you are potentially voiding your drivetrain warranty. While Jeep dealerships have traditionally been very lenient on modifications, they do vary. Bear in mind that activating this modified system on hard dry pavement has the potential to destroy you axles, transfer case, differentials – especially around curves and can cause your vehicle to crash or roll over due to all 4 wheels being 100% locked together with no room for slippage. No that that’s out of the way, onto the lockdown.
Overview:You are creating a bypass to ground circuit to allow your locker relays to activate regardless of transfer case position or TPIM inputs. While this will allow you to destroy your differentials, transfer case, or axles on dry pavement – it is designed to allow you to operate your lockers when not in 4WD-Low. This can be useful in sandy environments, high-speed mud running etc. This system does not disable the factory system. It will operate different from the factory system. Under normal operation your locker indicator lights will remain solid during operation. With this bypass, your locker indicator lights will blink until disengaged.

Procedure:Remove the battery by disconnecting the positive, then the negative post clamps. Then remove the battery hold down bracket with an 8mm socket. (I’ve been told other sizes are used as well).Locate the locker relays on the passenger side of the vehicle right next to the battery on the fender wall (see wiring diagram below). locate the plastic rivet holding the relay bracket to the fender-wall and loosen the rivet until the relay mounting bracket comes loose. Pull as much slack as possible on cables and lay them into the empty battery tray area. Locate the ground wire coming out of the relay (see schematic below) Solder 1 of you wires to each ground coming out of the relay (I tried wire crimps first but they did not work well for me). Repeat for the other relay. Tape and heat shrink your solder splices well, this area of the engine compartment gets a healthy dose of mud Tape ends of looming to prevent wires from being seen, or coming loose due to vibrations.
Mark Run your cables through the looming and feed the wire loom across the engine compartment from the relays to the drivers side of the vehicle. If you don’t like answering dumb questions from your dealership regarding the extra wiring, you will take the time to dress it up and tuck the loom behind the OEM harnessRun you wire loom through the firewall using the existing grommet near the steering column, and into the passenger compartment.Once your wiring is inside the vehicle dress your cabling accordingly (not like mine).Run (2) cables from your switches to the ground nut near the drivers side door harness.Run your 2 wires from the relays to the switches. Connect each relay and switch separately using your marked cables (you did mark them didn’t you).Individual placement and switch type can vary, basic single pole switches are the minimum with lighted and/or a single switch being other options I chose to mount my switches in the unused panel below the 12VDC power outlet and cigarette lighter.Careful placement in this location is advised due to tight clearances (read: no clearance) behind the panel. I had to bend the tabs on my switches to push the panel closed. Testing:
Loosely replace the battery and tighten the battery post connectors. Key the ignition to “ON” and flick 1 of the switches. If wired correctly the locker indicator lights should flash on the instrument cluster. If no locker indicators come on verify you have a good ground at the drivers door nut (might need some paint scraped off). Double check your wiring connections.

Competition between the Plastic Locker and Steel Locker?

Plastic locker is also known as plastic wardrobe or wardrobe or steel locker (ABS locker). With its unique material, moisture proof, rustproof, impact resistance, heat resistance, acid and alkali resistance and other advantages, plastic locker is widely used in all kinds of special places, such as swimming pool, gymnasium, university bathhouse, beach, fitness center, bath center, station, subway station, big industrial mining companies, department stores, supermarkets, libraries, stadiums, ski resorts, golf courses, and many other places.Using ABS plastic granules and steel casting mould, plastic locker is molded through injection molding of big machine. It has features of moisture proof, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, non-toxic, tasteless, gorgeous color and lustre, colorfastness, never rust and long service life. Nowadays many domestic Shanghai manufacturers, for the purpose of reducing cost, produce and sale of ABS lockers, most of which are made by recycled plastic with product quality far beyond that of real material ABS. Therefore when consumers buy this product, try to choose products of international famous manufacturers, especially imported from abroad.Using high quality cold-rolled steel plate, steel locker is made after shearing, punching, bending, welding, installation. Plate thickness is 0.6 mm (0.5-1.0 mm optional). Some steel lockers select high specification fusion welding, with smooth appearance. Steel wardrobe door chooses imported plastic powder electrostatic spray molding and it is disposed through nine severe procedures (hot water wash, pre-skim, skim, cold water wash, surface conditioning, phosphating, etc.) to strengthen the maintenance of appearance and protect it from being influenced by wet environment. It is equipped with label box, stainless steel handle, ventilation window, and pores to ensure the air circulation inside it. The luxury locker is attached with logo of lock and unlock. Patent design of clad door, with generous appearance, increases space. It is also equipped with internal dressing mirror and stainless steel clothes rail. Steel locker is suitable for various companies, hotels, campus, swimming pool, playgrounds, dormitories and other local locker room or storage room.Through summarizing the difference between the two kinds of locker, we know what kind of locker to choose in corresponding situation, and this is also very important for us.

Door switch has 2 wires.1black 1yellow. both disconnected. which goes where?

Hello Russell;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

Behind your control board you have 3 door contact switches. The top one is, "Normal" (Close operation), The middle one is, "Intermediate" (Closed operational), and the bottom switch is, "Door closed".

Usually it make no difference if the wires are the same color. You need to do a trial and error. Connect the wires to the door switch. If the microwave does not work reverse them. You will not damage the microwave.

Go into the following website, put in your model number located on a label on your microwave and you will get diagrams, and perhaps a wiring diagram. Water Filters Lawn Garden Appliance Parts

How to remove JMC8127DD from cabinet

The wiring diagram for the microwave shows it is separate and distinct.
Usually slid-in counter top microwaves in this cubbyhole configuration have a trim piece surrounding & covering the front edges of the oven on all sides like a picture frame.
Normally you remove 4 or more screws in the trim frame, pull the frame off, then slide the oven out a little (there may be a locking tab on the cubbyhole's rails for safety) to unplug the cord, and then slide it out the rest of the way.
You can find installation instructions and other literature for this model for free download here.
You can find links to helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts and accessories for it here.

No Power

My microwave was totally dead. Things I discovered: 1) There is an easily replacable fuse accessed by taking off the top front vent cover (two screws on top, gently massage off) and then the inside plastic grill. UNPLUG before doing this! 2) Pop off two wires on either end of fuse holder for safety. Then pop out fuse and replace. For more extensive help, there is an evelope with a wiring diagram inside the case on the inside wall! Very helpful when diagnosing the surface lamp problem (I forgot to plug the ballast back in when I closed up the bottom).
