Sanitop Macerator Leaking

Hi, I have a Sanitop Broy Pro. The macerator appears to be pumping correctly, however there is a leak from the side of the discharge elbow. I have tightened the jubilee clip but water keeps leaking from the side where the rubber seal meets the top of the lid. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Regards, S

SOURCE: macerator leaks badly

Hi ya,

the macerator will dispose of most stuff, providing its within the manufacturers requirements.

The unit is made of stainless steel so it should be ok, however the seals are made of neoprene & according to the amount of perm solution put down the unit, especially as its quite acidic, so it could be leaking due to the seals being eaten away by the perm solution etc.
My advice would be to dilute the solutions as soon as you put them in the unit & run water so as to make sure it doesnt sit in the unit.
But however my professional advise would be to dispose of it down a suitable drain point.

If you look on the saniflo website they will direct you to a service engineer in your area

You will probably be able to find a user manual on the above link. It will tell you whether or not there has to be maintenance on this toilet. I doubt it but it is possible. There should also be trouble shooting advice as well. When all else fails, contact the manufacturer. They will be able to tell you what the problem is and guide you in the right direction.

SOURCE: Our macerator allows water to go to top of toilet

blocked or VERY dirty saniflo. This unit will have to be removed for complete cleaning and descaling. check the 22mm outlet pipework for blockages. Once spotless, check the unit for operation and then reinstall. Se my other posts for how to.

question aint clear.what do you want? this is in relation to plumbing and drainage however try to use ordinary instruments like gauze wire to filter the water so as to stop the blacking and you can use a rubber to hold the outlet pipe that pushes into the top of the macerator box.try it

Bad smell fro macerator when toilet flushed after being left overnight

Typically on macerating or grinder pumps there is a small 1/2" breather hole on top of the lid, about the size of a dime or nickel. That breather hole must be kept plugged or seal cap. If left open, odor will escape through there. Make sure the pump is vented using an 1 1/2" vent pipe which must be vented to the open air so air can flow in and out of the vent pipe at all times. Also you might want to check for loose connection or waste water leaking from the pump, toilet or any of the connections.

Pump cycles often

The following are the possible problems and solutions:
  1. The tank flapper (Flush Valve) leaking allowing water into bowl. Make sure flapper is fully seated. If flapper is fully seated and still is leaking replace flapper.
  2. Faulty Non-Return Check Valve, water leaking back into Macerator. Clean and Inspect check valve replace if after clean water still flows back into Macerator.
I hope this answers your question and gives you a few more places to look. Please rate the answer on it's helpfulness. Good Luck and have a great day. Jeff

  3. Check micro switch, the micro switch turns on pump when the water level reaches to a determined level. Location of switch is in the pressure chamber. Check to see if switch is sticking. Note: For safety Macerator should never be operated with lid open

indicates a blocked or very dirty unit. Try cleaning with a saniflo cleaner - can be intorduced via wc bowl without unit removal. if this fails then its time to remove the unit and clean / look for blockages

How to install toilet macerator?

on your out put pipe make sure you put as few turns and bends in it as you can, this will help the pump out when it's grinding and pushing it up. also you will want to use schedule 80 pvc pipe if you can get it and make sure you prime and glue every fitting well because you do not want that to leak when it's started up. it's always good to put a check valve on it as well some where close to where it enters the tank and a shut off valve, the glued pvc valves are handy because you dont have to worry about them leaking
