I was able to connect in safemode and complete the restore of my data that was backed up from my old BB and everything worked just fine. Safemode is the only solution I found that worked. No one at Rogers (provider) was able to help, so much for support.

I had same problem as you have. Vodafone access gateway doesn't work with mobile broadband router since the data throughtput is not engough compare to landline broadband.

If you connect the computer directly to the modem, does it work?
If that works then the modem is working.
Now connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
You will need to open the set up page of the router to check the settings of the router.
You can set up the router without the CD also.
It is very easy.

disable the antivirus and firewall and then install the modem, it installtion stop in between use task manager to close any extra file, then it would work, other wise reinstall the fresh os in your system'
