Gosh,it is confusing trying to work this site....I have stated on several occasions that I am trying to get a Proteam electronic garden water timer to operate. I have followed the instructions on the cover of the timer etc etc...but the timer does not come on at the set time.....I would like a step by step guide of that is possible. Many thanks for all colleagues who have looked at this matter...David

Sometimes the question is truncated to 'I need a manual.' Or 'How do you work this?' And person answering question has no idea what product ... Maybe paid answers are different. In any case, I cannot see the instructions, there is no website for Proteam timers, meaning there is no support page or online manual or clear warranty claim procedure. Unclear what battery is used, or if there is a reset button, or if timer can be reset by removing battery. Battery-operated water timers are not the most reliable devices based on questions asked at fixya. I don't know who else has looked at question or formulated an answer, but fixya offers suggested answers that can sometimes pertain to same product.

Gardena c14e water timer

You can find a T14e manual at this address if you still need one after all these years.. It appears to be almost identical to a C14e manual. Garden Water Timer Electronic Operating Instructions ManualsOnline com

I have a brand new Sherman Timeoff Water Timer Model 500 in a box, but there are no instructions. Can you help?

It appears that you turn the dial to any setting from 1 to 13 depending upon how much water you want the timer to dispense. The numbers show relative amounts from 100 total gallons to 400 total gallons, then the timer shuts off.

I have installed a new adjustable thermostat unit (E1-BCANRT1W). Temp is set at 91 deg and I am using the timer. Two time periods are set and the switch is set to timer (not ON). The unit comes on at...

Double check your slide switch.
For timer: set switch to TIMER
For thermostat: set switch to ON
If slide switch does not operate, then Autocirc may be defective

http://waterheatertimer.org/Water-heater-recirculation-system.html

1) Household AC wiring will not affect the timer.
You can check your outlet using cheap circuit analyzer from home center.
The clock rotates one direction and the pins push small lever down which turns motor on-off.
When the OFF pins pass, the small lever snaps back and the motor turns ON.

I cannot immediately find operation manual for the E-1 model.
Typical ACT303 auto circ manual says following:

2) If timer controlled operation is desired, set timer and move slide switch to TIMER:
Manual says: tabs/pins are outward for ON times.
Another sentence says UPWARD, so I don't know which way the pins are set for sure.
So if you want timer ON for 2 hours, you would set 4 consecutive pins outward or upward.
ON for 6 hours, set 12 consecutive pins outward or upward.
If the timer turns ON in reverse of instructions, then set the pins that way.
Autocirc does not make the timer, they buy timer modules from clock-makers like Grasslin, Intermatic, etc.

3) To operate Autocir thermostatically without the timer, slide switch to ON position.
The clock dial will continue rotating

Can't set timer

You posted under Grasslin in-wall mechanical timer.

Instructions for this timer are nearly identical to GE
http://waterheatertimer.org/GE-timers-and-manuals.html#15070

First, the timer has to be wired correctly, so review wiring instructions shown on link above.
Next, the pins have to be set, so read instructions and look at image of pins shown on link above.
Last, the timer switch has to me set. I believe timer switch is moved all the way right for timer program to operate.

To check operation, manually rotate dial clockwise to watch lights turn on-off.
This will tell you exactly how to set pins and switch.
To set current time, rotate dial clockwise until current time lines up with arrowhead located on inner dial.
Dial rotates as time passes, and pins trip a lever that opens and closes switch to your lights.

Also take advantage of fixya phone service.
For a price, expert speaks with you over phone while you work on timer or any do-it-yourself project.
Fixya is always less expensive than a service call.

I am assumimg that when the plastic peg is pushed down the recirculater for the hot water is off. When up, it is on. The Build set the timer and no manual was left. Hot water comes onwhen it should be...

Do you have the auto-circ recirculation pump with timer?
If so, here is manual for that specific product:
Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;}

http://waterheatertimer.org/Auto-circ-manual.pdf
Manual gives instructions for a different timer dial than timer than shows on unit, so they must come with different dials.

Instructions say pegs pulled out = timer on
Conversely, pegs pushed in = timer off
You might be able to hear the pump operating to see if these instructions are correct for your recirculation timer. The kids would love a listening assignment under the sink.

To see images showing how recirculation system operates:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Water-heater-recirculation-system.html

Setting times:
Try 1/2 hour ON in morning and 1/2 hour ON in evening. Warm water will stay in pipe for a while.

Recirculation system with timer costs $10-17 per year to operate, assuming timer runs 1 hour per day with electric prices at 10 cents per kilowatt hour. Operation cost is straight line ... so if timer runs 2 hours per day, cost is $20-34 per year at 10 cents per Kwh.

Water saved might equal 5 gallons per day, or 1825 gallons per year depending on usage. Average water wasted waiting for hot water is 1/2- 2/3 gallon depending on length of pipe. Set a bucket under spigot to test your home when circulation system is not ON.

Cost of water depends on local billing rate. The municipality saves purifying water, pumping water to your home, and finally pumping and processing sewage drainwater.

If you are on a water well, the pump electricity from saving 2000 gallons a year is a dollar or two per year since water well generally consumes less than 1Kwh per day for ordinary house.
