I just repaired my convergence issues. The set worked for a couple weeks and I unplugged. Yesterday i plugged it back in to use and now I have sound but no picture. I checked for voltage at the projecters and it seems I have none. Any ideas?

Probably something simple, like it is on the wrong setting.
Spent around 5-8 hours troubleshooting my neighbours receiver a couple weeks ago. In the end it was a simple press of a button on the remote that solved the issue.

May be a voltage band adjustment might do the trick for you? Was reading this article yesterday and found it very helpful for fixing a set with a similar issue. Dont worry about the sony.. This is a generic problem

The convergence ICs and resistors have failed. You will need to install a convergence repair kit. The Phillips DPTV305 chassis convergence repair kit is the correct one for your magnavox. Its available at www.tvrepairworld.com and the kit contains the 2 ICs and resistors and the CD with repair instructions.

U check the power source?Take the tv aparts,check or replaced the power fuse,might get lucky.Not,than sorry,this tv can't be repair,without replacing electronic's componnents parts.Hire the same shop to do the repair.Ur tv power ICS inverter are dead.

Try unplugging the Convergence amp board, which is located behind the speaker grille. If the set will power up with the Convergence amps unplugged the ICs will need replacement. I have seen many JVC in both the WP30 and WP74 pop through the speakers when the ICs short. Unplugging them takes them out of the equation and the set will power up but the pic will have severe convergence issues.

try unplugging it and thn plug it back if the light comes for 3-5 sec. and goes off thn you will hear another click noise when it goes off. you never get a picture or sound.If im right thn there are several circuits in the tv that might cause this. the most common are the power supply and the convergence circuits. a cost of a repair for either will range around $400.00. this is a great model and well worth a repair.

these have been know to have bad convergence ic but that would only be a guess as to whats wrong i would have someone give you and est.

DOES THE TV SEEM TO BE CYCLING ON AND OFF, BUT NEVER COMES ON? WHAT I MEAN IS DOES IT SEEM TO BE TRYING TO COME ON, BUT SHUTS DOWN IMMEDIATELY CONTINUOSLY AND WILL ONLY STOP CYCLING THIS WAY UNTIL IT'S UNPLUGGED? DOES IT MAKE A SQUEAKING SOUND FROM BEHIND THE SET WHILE THIS IS HAPPENING?
