Re: Storage Processor A Problem

Hi raufsaeed.
Have you tried ressetting the SP?
If not give it a reset.
If that does not work give me some info.
Is your SAN environment managed thro Windows or Linux servers?
What version of navisphere are you running.
I presume SP B is good and all SAN connectivity is as expected you just have the issue with SP A??
Let me know and I will assist you more.

Re: Storage Processor A Problem

I'm not an EMC guy, but that error makes me question the connectivity of SP-A to your Management Server. Check the host port status on both controllers to see if they are active. If this is on a SAN, you might check the switch port status going to SP-A.

Flashing blue rings

The alternating flashing between the inner and outer blue rings means the drive is currently in Raid Degraded mode per KB article 1480. You will need to have your drive serviced. If you are able to access the device's Shared Storage Manager you should find a Drive Status: Drive (A or B) failed. If you can access it, you might be able to re-create the raid by replacing the bad drive (they're labeled A and B internally with a sticker so you'll know which one to replace) -- it's generally recommended that you first go through the warranty process though:

KB Article 915 and KB Article 8 will start you on the RMA process.

Unable to connect

When the LED turns continuous amber colored , it means your RAID is not yet initialized.

- Install the Intel Storage system center console (ISSC) software from the accompagnied cd-rom

- Start the ISSC and have it discovering your storage device (make sure you are in the same subnet as your NAS device)

- Once it discovered the device click "Log on storage console" , it will open up a browser and have you login.

Firefox should work , I however assume you are maybe in a different subnet , and therefore cannot open the page.
If FireFox really doesn"t work , try using IE !

Unit keeps powering down every 15 minutes

check the internal sensors. There were 2 of them that sensed the internal temp of the system. the one in front sometimes would break. Those units also had a smart card that did all the montoring. Its the only isa card in the system. It can cause these weird problems.
