You can try an appliance parts supplier. There might be a crossover to a current part

Thank you, I have done that already and there is no current part. I need to find someone who has the part sitting in their inventory or someone who has used parts.

Thermidor GG30 cooktop front large burner will not light, does not spark. Three other burners work fine. Need instructions how to disassemble and repair. I am handy but no experience with this item. ...

Here is the part to order.

Close the valve in the gas line connected to the Thermador oven. Unplug the cooktop's electrical cord from the wall outlet.
Remove the screws under the front edge of the Thermador cooktop below the cabinet to release the cooktop from the countertop.

Put on work gloves then raise the cooktop at an angle. Recruit a friend to hold up the appliance while you work on the igniter underneath. The igniter is a pronged strip of black metal in a housing wired with two plugs connected to powericon1.png sockets underneath the Thermador cooktop.

Disconnect the two wired plugs on the end of the igniter from the sockets.
Take out the two screws in the metal plate that hold the igniter in position under the Thermador cooktop. Pull the igniter out of the mounting bracket in the cooktop.
Hold the new igniter by the housing and insert the part into the mounting bracket. Secure it with the two screws.
Connecticon1.png the two wired plugs to the sockets. One plug is larger than the other, which makes it simple to connect them correctly.

Lower the Thermador cooktop into position on the countertop and reattach it with the screws through the underside of the front edge.
Plug inicon1.png the cooktop's power cord and open the valve in the gas line.

Thermador gas cooktop explosion

I would say that pop was one of you igniters.  either that or the stove is not installed correctly and when it gets warm, thermal expansion makes the metal pop.  I would say that I would use caution and discontinue its use.  Most problems with these need to fixed professionally.

Clogged burner on gas cooktop

lowly is it the left burners that won't lite? I only ask as depending on the model some of the Thermador cook tops had simmer control burners. This is a 3 part system on the burners. 1 a simmer control, 2 electric solenoid, 3 potentiors. When you turn on the burner the potentior tells the simmer control to send power to the gas solenoid. At the same time the unit will spark. If your unit has extra low on the left 2 burners then you have this system. The usual problem in the potentior. Hope this helps.

remove 4 screws under the trim that surrounds the burner knob panel. They are on the underside and you will be looking straight up to see them.

Slide the trim down and off after removing the screws.

remove the burner grills and caps

remove the 4 brass venturis and you will then be able to lift the cooktop

the valves are easy to get to
