Is there a process known to man that cleans windex streaks off an lcd screen?

How to Clean an LCD Screen
So, first of all, let's decide what we don't use to clean it:
Anything containing bleach or ammonia, such as Windex. That will react with the plastic and make the plastic screen become cloudy and discolored.
Anything sharp, pointy or abrasive.
Your easiest choice is one of those LCD cleaning solutions they sell in places where they sell computers. But they're expensive, and why bother when you can make your own solution for next to nothing?

What you'll need:
Distilled water (available at your supermarket; tap water leaves streaks and minerals).
White vinegar (you may substitute isopropyl alcohol; either way, make sure these substances are diluted before they come near your screen).
A clean, soft cloth (never use any kind of paper product).
A spray bottle.

Directions:
In the spray bottle, mix the distilled water and alcohol/vinegar, in a 1:1 ratio.
Turn off the LCD display.
Spray the mixture onto the cloth, never directly onto the screen.
Wipe gently - oh, so gently - from top to bottom. Do it horizontally, too, if you think that leaves a cleaner result.
Let the screen dry before turning it back on.

Hands Off!
Fingers leave dirt and oil smudges that must be cleaned off. Also, every time you touch the screen you risk doing damage to those tiny creatures inside that hold the colored flashlights. Keep your fingers to yourself.

I spilled salad on my computer. Curser works, but clicking gets nothing

Need to know if it's a laptop or desktop. Was the food spilled onto the keyboard or into the CPU? If the spill occurred to a desktop (detachable) keyboard, simply buy a new or used keyboard. Not expensive. A laptop is more costly to fix - requires removal of case. You can always use an external keyboard with a laptop -just plug into USB port.
You may be able to clean an external keyboard by repeatedly pressing the various keys where the spill occurred. If all else fails, get some electrical contact cleaner from Radio Shack or Auto Zone, unplug the keyboard, and spray cleaner sparingly around the keys where the spill occurred. I would not spray a laptop - too much electronics to fry. After spraying again press the keys repeatedly. Replug and look for improvement. By the way, USB keyboards are cheap on Ebay or Caigslist. I get them for $10 each,

My laptop keys few are not workin after a spill i used a colin cleaner specially meant for cleanin this but sometimes it beeps at start up and blinks.don tell me its motherboard problem.:(

Hi,

If you spilled liquid on your laptop or adapter try placing the object in rice (uncooked). The rice absorbs liquid very well. Leave it in there for several hours (2-3 at least). Afterwards, try turning on your laptop and see if the problem is solved.

What to use to clean flat screen monitor

As an easier option you can use dust cleaners like Colin etc but if you want something specific go to a nice Computer shop ans ask for LCD cleaners and use that. These LCD cleaners have high percentage of Phenol in them and less percentage of alcohol. And Phenol is considered best for cleaning LCD but you should not use something that contains only Phenol as its very reactive.
We don't use something that contains high % of alcohol as it is highly inflammable.

Thanks !!

Please rate the solution if you like it.

Cleaning monitor

I dont know which type you have but here is how to clean either:

CRTs
Those big chunky CRT monitors have glass screen which are easily cleaned. The important thing to remember is that you don’t ever want to spray any liquid directly on the screen. Instead, spray the cloth with water or a mild window cleaning solution then wipe the screen. You can use the same damp cloth to clean the entire monitor case, as well. If you prefer, you can also use moistened paper towels to clean CRT monitors, You will be only cleaning the outside of the monitor case and screen. Never open the monitor casing which contain electric voltage that can cause a shock.

Flat Panel LCDs
LCD monitors are often called flat panel monitors because they are flat and thin. These are the types of screens that are used in most laptop computers, and they are also becoming very popular for desktop computers. LCD screens are softer than CRT glass screens, so they require some extra tender loving care. Keep your fingers and sharp objects away from these screens since they are susceptible to damage and scratches.
Use a soft dry cotton cloth to remove fingerprints and smudges from the screen. If this does not completely remove the dirt and splotches, use a small amount of isopropyl alcohol on the cleaning cloth that has been dampened with water. (A small amount of vinegar can be substituted for the isopropyl alcohol.) Again, spray the liquid on the cloth and never directly onto the screen. Do not use paper towels on an LCD screen as they can scratch the screen. Never use ammonia, ammonia-based cleaners, or strong cleaners which can cause the surface to yellow and become brittle.
It is good to have a special clean cloth that is dedicated to use on the LCD screen. Don’t pick up any old rag, as dirt particles in the rag can scratch the surface of the screen. Special LCD cleaning cloths are available and can be an excellent investment.

Clean the MobilePro system

Routine cleaning for MobilePro devices. Caution: Do not spray any cleaning fluids or foam directly onto the MobilePro unit. Caution: Never use harsh solutions, household cleaners, or spray cleaners that contain caustic materials on the MobilePro. Clean or dust the system as follows. · Display screen - Carefully wipe the LCD screen with a soft cloth or a screen wipe designed for that purpose. Special screen wipes are available through your local computer dealer. · Keyboard - Carefully wipe the keyboard with a dry soft cloth. · External case (with LCD closed) - Carefully wipe the case with a slightly damp, almost dry cloth.
