SOURCE: I have a ViP 722.

Okay I am not positive I have this right as far as the configuration of the system but I will give it a shot. If you run the 722 to the tv using rca's you get the hum. I assume this as there are no inputs on a dish 722 receiver. I can suggest one possible solution which is to buy an rf modulator. It will convert the signal from rca to coax so you can connect as you wish. There are several types out there so ensure you get the one that converts from rca to coax. I would suggest the following configuration: Remove all connections from tv and hook 722 up via rca's to rca input 1 on the tv, check for hum. If it is present now you need a new 722 as it is passing to much power thru the connection. If there is no hum connect your cable and tivo to the tv via whatever inputs you have remaining. Lastly connect the DVD player to another input that is free. You will have to system through your inputs to view the three sources but should not have the hum. I hope this solves your issue. Thanks for using Fix Ya and let me know if I can be of further assistance.

SOURCE: I disconnected the 322 to install a new TV1. TV2

You should have one line entering the home behind the TV1 attached to it there should be a device exactly as you saw outside. You will want the line from outside connected to the single port called in/out and the SAT port goes to the silver seperator. The two lines leaving the seperator attach to the SAT in on the receiver. The UHF poret on the device connects to the home distibution port on the receiver.

Thanks for using Fix YA.

Hi hartbettinaI see where your TV2 has a blue screen, there are a couple of things you can doyou can do. The first things you want to do is press the buttons of MENU-6-1-5and see if TV2 is set to channel 60 or 73 and make sure TV2 is on that channel.Once TV2 is on the channel on the Modular Setup page you will want to unplugthe receiver for 10 seconds and plug it back in and it will reset itself. How do i tune tv #2 from the reciever or the 1st remote? dish network dual reciever, silver remotes.

I'm not sure I understand your question. If you are trying to use a second TV without a remote or if you are trying to set up TV 2. The two remotes are different so, they will not perform on both Tv's. Please gine me more info on what you are trying to do.

Michlward136,

It does sound like it's the tuner on that receiver going bad, and I can definitely help you get that taken care of. You may need a replacement receiver to be mailed out which I can definitely help with.

Whenever you're ready to get that setup you can reach me at thomas.faust@dishnetwork.com, all I will need is your account or phone # and I can get that setup!

You can change the preference that you have set up and have it record to TV2. Go to Menu, then 8 - Preferences, and 5 - Record Plus. Change it to enabled, if not already, and TV2 for preference.

Hello, this Luke. Hooking the 508 to any TV is just like hooking a DVD to TV. Just used whichever cable available to you. e.g. RCA, coax. But if you want to have Satellite programming to that receiver, that would be a different thing. You will have to call Dish to add that receiver to your account with them. They will verify that receiver if it is registered to an account with debt and add it to your account if it is clear. They might need to send an installer to hook it up. Let me know if this help.

Cannot watch a different channel while recording another channel! What's up with that? We always get a message when we try to switch to another channel after setting up "record" for a particular program....

In order to do this with the 625 you must either place the receiver in single mode or change the Record Plus setting on the receiver.

To change to single mode you will need to pop open the small door on the right front of the receiver by gently pushing three to four inches from the right side of the receiver. Inside there will be multiple buttons press the one labeled mode. The blue light for TV2 will extinguish when it is in single mode and the amber mode light will switch from the duplex tile side to the single tile side.

The drawback to this is that the TV2 location now must watch the same program or something that was previously recorded on the DVR or utilize a peripheral such as an X-box or DVD player.

The other way results in the same outcome but to achieve this it will automatically default all recordings to be recorded at the TV2 location. Press menu on the TV1 remote then 8 - 5. You should now be at the Record Plus setting option. Use the arrow keys on the remote to manuever to the record preference setting and toggle up or down with the up down arrow keys to switch the preference to TV2. Now manuever to the activation option and toggle it to ENABLE in the same manner. Once comple select done and press the View Live TV button.

The reason you cannot watch and record at the same location and still have access to different programming at the second location is due to the receiver only having two tuners which means it only is capable of viewing two seprate programs at any given time. Once they both are in use by either TV1 or TV2 or both are watching independent programming the receiver is no longer able to access further tuners to display additional programs.

I could go into the technical aspects but it would not resolve the issue either. However if you desire this capability at both locations you can check into changing the receiver from a 625 to two 512's which will allow you the ability to so.

I hope this helps you out. Thanks for using Fix Ya and being a Dish Network customer.

How do I add another TV to Dish network. I simply want to view the SAME channel as on one of the other receivers? I now one PVR and one box on Dish.

What you are looking for is called a mirrored location. Its a location that mirrors either tv1 or tv2. It can be installed using simply a few splitters depending on how you want it ran. If you do it your self it will save you alot of money. If not Dish Network will charge up to $99 for a reinstall

TV1 is in the room with the receiver, that portion is controled by infrared remote, TV2 is the remote tv portion of the receiver and is controlled by rf (radio frequency). Requires a special remote to operate

Problem with DISH DVR 625

You can accomplish this by either going to the specific TV and selecting the record option at the time the program is about to come on or you can press menu-8-5 and change the record preferences. You can either set the DVR to record programs to the TV2 location by default or TV1 by enabling the record plus feature. In dual mode without record plus enabled all programs you select to record default to the tuner you are viewing e,g, if watching tv1 and selecting to record a program in the future it will record to the tv1 location. In single mode all recordings default to tv2 so you can continue to watch live tv from tv1. I hope this answers your question and thanks for using Fix Ya. Let me know if I can further assist you.

Receiver 625`tv 2 fuzzy

4647cb4.png Okay if you have a seperator you should be connected with the ch21-69 port running into the diplexer as above. Outside on the second diplexer the uhf/vhf port should run to the second tv. The sat port on this diplexer should be ran to the ground block and then to the dish. Assuming this is correct we should check the connectors to ensure they are made up properly. The white dielectric should terminate flush with the inner most part of the connector where the wire enters the connector. Ensure that all of the dielectric has been removed from the center conductor at all locations and that no strands of the metal braiding has wrapped around or come in contact with the center conductor as this will cause the same issue you describe. If there are any barrels in the cable run and or you are using a wall plate ensure that they are high frequency barrels. Most will have a red or blue center on them the clear or white ones are low frequency. Ensure that your center conductor is no longer than a 16th beyond the end of the connector. Check the modulation on the receiver for tv2 and make sure it is on 60 air or 73 cable and that the tv2 is set the same. To check the modulation press menu 6-1-5 on the Dish remote. This can be done at either location. If all this is good we may need to consider the distance ran from TV1 to TV2. Also any breaks in the line will cause a decibel loss degrading the signal so if there are mirror images are barrels in the run it may be causing this issue as well. Lastly lets check to ensure that the port on the receiver is not generating the issue. If you connect the cable that is on the 3-4 out on the receiver to the 21-69 out and tune TV1 to the station you have TV 2 set to you will be able to see if the picture is clear from the port of the receiver. You can also run the cable that was originally on 21-69 out to the 3-4 out on the receiver and change TV2 to ch 3 to see if the issue still exists. The final way to check to see if the TV2 is faulty is to ru a line from the 21-69 out on the back of the receiver directly to tv2 inside the home so you will no the are only to connections and no breaks in the cable. If this last one produce the same fuzzy picture after all other steps the TV is faulty. You may try the opposing setting to see if that clears it up e.g. going from 60 air to 73 cable or vice versa. I hope this assists you and thanks for using Fix Ya. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
