Question about Vizio XVT3D474SV 47 in. 3D LCD TV

1 Answer

Picture is mirrored horizontally

I recently moved and when I plugged my TV back in, the display is mirrored horizontally. The bottom is upside down (Profile: Guest menu is in the bottom right instead of top left). The movers took it to a repair shop and they said that the circuit board of the display panel had a failure. Does this make sense?

Sony lcd projection tv vertical adjustment KF-50E200A

Try changing the settings for the video formats, widescreen, regular, and all that. There are angle mirrors in the back of the tv that direct the projected image on the screen. The mirrors are positioned such that if, says, a piece of a metal bracket or something falls down inside the projection area, it'll fall right against the projection lens and block the image. Open up the back of the tv and follow the light path from the screen backwards to its source and make sure there's no debris in the projection path.

Picture settings

You should go to the menu and look for the "Mirror" settings, change the vertical to bring it rightside up, however if it is also backwards (horizontally) change the horizontal "Mirror" there is an option of turning on either both or each separate option. I assume though that you will probably just have to change the setting to H&V Mirror.

Have several problems with either a bad LVDS cable from Main unit to the LCD controll bd. Sometimes the cable is just not connected properly. If you reseat this cable and the problem still exists you most likely have a bad LCD control bd.

By bottom up do you mean that if you flipped the monitor upside down the picture would be right side up but backwards? If so then the horizontal is o.k. since you are reversing it when you flip it. It sounds like it is just your vertical windings of the yoke have had their relative polarity reversed. Could be major or it also could be as simple as some one has put the connector on backwards. Consult your local lab, at the end you're also dependant on their repair estimate. Good luck
