The video cable from the screen to the motherboard may have come loose, if so! it will need to be reseated back in place. But if the cable checks out the LCD screen will need to be replaced, first hook a spare monitor to the video output just to rule out the video graphics card.

BLUE SCREEN,WHEN TRYING TO OPEN UP ON DESKTOP, CAN'T USE THE PROGRAMS BUT CAN BACKUP MY FILES, HAVE DELL XPS SYSTEM

Blue screen of death is what it is called. It does not usually mean death of the computer but a hardware change or a hardware issue is happening. These are common when you switch things in or out of your computer or move devices around or whatever.
Something is causing the screen we know this however in order to fix this I would first unplug the external drive then try restarting the computer again if the screen comes back it is a problem with your portable. When I get blue screens it is time for me to re-install original software again and start fresh.
This is just what I do and the problem is gone and solved. Works for me but I totally understand it is a burden for those of us that are not used to working computers this way, folks seem to think that a simple re-install of their original software is a nightmare.
This is just my suggestion and way of doing things keeps me happy and computer error free. Now try to reboot again without the external hooked up if the computer boots fine then we have an external drive failure. Reinstall the disk that came with your external drive and start again. If this screen keeps coming up blue you have a possible hardware issue going out on your machine. You can look at the codes it gives you search those and they do tell you what it is if you can read Greek codes, if this continues and you are not going to start a reinstall process or have never done this before I advise that you take the computer to someone that does.
If you have done this before why not do it again this will reinstall all of the original software back to original factory settings and you can replace all of your additional things back if you saved you information and I do hope that you did do this. If not you will lose any unsaved information. Try this and see what takes place. First unplug anything that is plugged in and restart the computer. Go from there. I hope this gives you a little insight to this blue screen of death, I hate getting them. John

I have a aspire one notebook computer i bought last year it boots up to the windows part then it takes me too a blue screen with two computers on the page and the name aspire one what's wrong??? please...

The blue screen (called the blue screen of death) comes up usually when enough hardware has changed that it "flags" the system, telling it not to boot. This is kind of like a voting system, drives count so much, video cards count so much, etc. One way to make the blue screen come up for sure is to move the hard drive from one computer to another. This particular thing overrides all other votes and says "no way." This is because it knows which processor was in place when windows was installed, and if a different one shows up it knows the drive was installed in another computer. This happens on desktops a lot, like when you change video cards too often, and other hardware. I haven't seen it too much on laptops, but it can happen. Usually, if you get a blue screen, you will have to reinstall Windows.

To clarify with you are you getting the Windows Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) or is the screen just going blue.

If you are getting the Windows Blue Screen of Death please include the info from the link below to help me better see what is going on with your computer.

My Toshiba A215-S4747 Crashes every time I move it.

This sounds like the Toshiba Blacvk Screen of Death issue with early A215 models. Re-boot and hold down the F2 key to bring up the BIOS screen. If your BIOS version is less than 1.9, you must update the BIOS.Go to the Toshiba support site and search by model. If your BIOS is ver. 1.9 or later, then go to the power opetion settings and set BOTH the minimum and Maximum power to 100% for BOTH battery and AC. That will fix this about 90% of the time.
