LX118 JD Lawn Tractor Moving Slower and Slower

Hello, My LX188 lawn tractor moves slower and slower as the engine warms up to the point where it cannot even go up a slight hill. I pumped the transmission fluid out and replaced but did not solve the problem. I made adjustments to the linkage with no results. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: Craftsman lawn tractor mower,

The belt is probably slipping because it is not tight enough. look by the belt, inside there is a little spring, you may half to tighten it.

SOURCE: Hello, I have a MTD 13am67g088 lawn tractor, the reverse slips

You may have a pulley loose, but it may be time for some new belts.
The model number you gave was incomplete. But I was able to look at an IPL for that series of mowers and there is not fluid to add, it has gease in the transmission.
Good Day.

Personally my best advice is to take it back to the tech. Why? Because they should stand behind it if they just installed it and may void the warranty if you touch it

Lawn tractor will only run in high gear

If it is a geared, belt driven lawn tractor it more than likely may be a worn or stretched belt. When you use it in high gear, does it go the same speed as it did originally or is it slower?

Im sure you have a hydrostatic or an automatic forward and reverse right well your ****** is on its way out when it warms up it likes to crawl in this case even if you attempt to check oil or even try draining and putting in different oil its a tough one ****** is expensive

Husqvarna YTH 2042 lawn tractor It starts OK, but as soon as I take my foot off the clutch, it lugs and quits. Same thing happens if I start to engage the clutch lever, even with my foot still on the...

If it really 'lugs', meaning the engine gradually chugs slower and slower as if it's struggling, then it could be a belt problem, but I'm going to guess it just quits, which suggests a problem with the seat safety switch. Look under the seat, take out the safety switch, and tape it in the pushed-in position. See if the tractor runs now. If so, the switch is the culprit - either it failed, or the mounting is wonky so it doesn't activate when you're in the seat.

Sounds like its slipping..
Have you checked the hydro fluid ?
Are there any leaks ?
Could be an adjustment in the pedal..
Look at all the pedal linkage and you might find some adjustment there..
Or - maybe a moving part is waring out in the linkage..

Hope this helps !!
rate me good ;o)
