SOURCE: HP Photosmart 7450 Printer

I had the same problem with my HP photosmart 7450. It started with frequent paper jams, to the point where it happened everytime it pulled the paper in to print. I had the rattle also, turned it upside down and the pin fell out, just like yours. I'll bet it's happening to many other 7450's. Anyway, I was able to repair it myself.
The pin attaches to a small black plastic gear, about 1/2 in. in diameter, in the paper feed roller, (on the right side, and not visable from the front). I had to remove the misc. covers, several screws attaching different things, includind the sliding ink absorber on the right side, (that was fun) to where I could see the loose gear. This was no easy task. I'm an auto mechanic, so I enjoy a challenge. However, as much as I like the printer, I was ready to toss it in the dumpster if I couldn't figure it out. First you'll need a small "torx" screwdriver or two, as well as some other basic tools. If you're patient, good with your hands and have a good sense of how things work, you can probably repair it yourself also. Let me know if you're successful.
Good luck!.....Ron J........ street@inreach.com

SOURCE: 2 small rubber pieces have fallen out. any idea

Those pieces go on the clean station and can easily be replaced. They each fit over a stud where the printhead parks and just press on.When they are missing the ink will dry out on your ink cartridges and the machine won't be able to clean them properly.

HP deskjet 1056 won't feed paper

I just fixed mine. The paper would feed part way then jam and twist a little off center. When I pulled the paper out there was a crinkle on the bottom edge, left side, about 2 or 3 inches in. I did some looking with the scanner removed a saw a plastic tab like the ones that hold and feed 1 sheet at at time. This tab was located inside a little "box-like" thing on the underside of the printer. I turned the printer over. There are several openings/ holes in the 'box'. You can take a pencil or similar object and slide a flat 'tab' that is inside the 'box'. You will see a small spring in one of the holes. Slide the flat tab toward the spring until it locks in place. My printer now works fine. To me the 'box' mechanism looks suspiciously identical to an analog counter wheel. If it is, then it is counting the pages and then engaging the tab to cause a paper jam so you will buy a new printer. Similar things happen electronically to my HP psc 1210 & my Officejet 5610. They will stop scanning or printing, give "no cartridge" error codes, etc... I unplug them for a few weeks and it's like they are new again. PS, if the printer can't talk to HP it will work longer.

I want to print onto a 3 x 5 card. it dosent want to go through the envelope feed. Is there any way to print onto a 3 x 5 card with this printer

1.Click 'Print' in your application, click 'options'
2. On the Paper tab or the Paper/Quality tab in the printer driver, specify the size of media (eg 3x5in)
3. On the Paper tab or the Paper/Quality tab, select your media type from
the 'Type is' drop-down list.
4.Load the media with the narrow side forward and the side to be printed on facing up.
Adjust the side and rear media guides to fit the media.
5. Print the document.

HP P3005DN Tray 2 pickup roller does not turn. Hear clicking sound but roller doesn't turn to pickup and feed paper.

Hi

This is a problem with the Pickup roller.

Try to inspect the paper pickup roller, on the right side of the roller you can find a small notch which gets coupled with the shaft it will be broken. You have to replace the roller.

Replaced black ink catridge but its still saying remove cartridge and check cartridge on right.

there is a plastic tab on the black plastic latch/cover to the black ink cartridge. In most cases that black tab has broken off, and the cover is not setting the cartridge in the printer properly. Use some super glue/nail glue to glue the tab back on. BE CAREFUL!! There is a tiny ribbon cable that attaches to the cartridge device, do not break that cable!!

Canon ip 2600 printer. Paper does not feed

Hey I had the same problem. Called the company; we couldn't fix it. Well I turned it upside down and a 2" flower stem fell out from when I cut some flowers next to my desk. It still didn't work. I was examining the feed area while it was running and I found another little piece of stem that was lodged way in there. I had to get it out with tweasers and it turned out to be 1" long. Couldn't really see it at all. Works fine now.

HP laserjet 5500dn paper jam at fuser

Hi,
I was able to fix my problem. On the left side of the fuser assembly there are two small plastic tabs or flags that move up & down. One is attached to the plastic rod/flap that you can see from the top of the fuser and moves when the paper comes out of the "chute". The other tab, which is below the first tab and moves when the paper has passed some point in the fuser, was broken off. I glued the tab back on and now the paper is ejected from the printer like it is suppose to.

I'm thinking that the broken tab was part of a page sensor flag that would tell the printer to stop rolling the fuser assembly when the paper was ejected. Without the flag, the sensor would disengage the fuser prematurely and stop ejecting the paper while the paper was still in the fuser.

HP Laserjet 2200d -- Paper won't feed through

Remove the paper cassette and the toner. Turn the printer upside down and look at the feed roller.

It should NOT spin freely, drive tabs may be broken off of the roller shaft.

Canon pc 430 feeder problem

You may have to fabricate a new anchor for one end of the spring on the side opposite the control panel. There is a wimpy plastic tab that breaks off here, right next to a black Phillips-head screw. Remove this screw and bend a piece of light wire around it, leaving a small hooked end sticking out for the spring to fasten on to. Replace the screw and install the spring. When you install the spring, it must go over the top of the tiny white plastic wheel, in the U-shaped groove.

This is how I repaired my PC430 several years ago and it's still working fine.
