check for malware/virus run scans
do diagnostics if you have them built into the bios or menu

Slow Windows Launch

Many causes for slow boot up or response is from malware and viruii.

Download and install Malwarebytes (Free version) from: http://www.malwarebytes.org/ You can allow the free 30 day Pro mode if you like (this program is ~$20 for a lifetime license and is highly recommended!).

Let it update the malware database. Then select "Quick Scan" and let it run. Depending on size of your HD, it may take up to 10 or more minutes to complete. You should delete everything it finds - except for cookies (if you want) and anything you recognize as "safe".

Check your antivirus software. Is it running? Is it up to date? If not, start it & update as needed. Have it perform a memory scan / quick scan / etc. and delete its findings too.

Reboot. If still slow, you might want to do a Safe Boot or boot from a Start Up disk and re-run those tests - possible selecting FULL scans instead.

Good luck!

My phone is nokia c5.when screen light goes off after some time(lights out after 20 secs) and any key is pressed then white screen appears for fraction of second and after that original screen comes back.

It is possible that the phone has hung up because there are errors in the software. So to reset remove the battery and the memory card from the phone. Using your PC , scan the memory card for any corrupt files or media files with virus- it is possible when they are downloaded from unsafe sites. If so remove or format the card. Copy only valid files to the card and do a scan before it is replaced. Now replace the card and battery and switch on the phone. If the phone hangs up or is slow when it is switched ON , then it is confirmed that the software has errors and will need a reinstallation. Open the Menu>settings>restore to factory settings and type 12345.

If not seeking help from the authorized service /support centre is most ideal. Take estimate and decide.

Hi, I scan documents (recto and recto-verso) using the InformatikScan software and the scanner Canon DR-9080C. When I scan for ex. 30 pages, after 10 pages the scanning process slows down in...

The scanner creates a Raster Image and if it is grey or color, the size is big. After a few images are scanned, the 'buffer' inside the scanner is full. It may take more time to process the scanned image by the scanner if it is 24 bit color. The image is sent to the computer Harddisk and if the disk is full or if it had not been defragged for a long time, the sectors may not be contiguous for speedy writing, This will slow up the scanning. Ensure the disk has large space. 'Scan ahead' slows down scanning speed. (Without scan ahead, the next page is fed only after processing, whereas when selected, just after the previous page is scanned, the scanner start the next one)

I put a document under the lid and press the 'check' button and after 30 seconds of waiting , i get the response 'cannot find application'.

I've had the same problem with my Lexmark. You have to load the CD that came with the printer to get the Lexmark Imaging Studio. Then, when you request the scan from the scanner, it downloads the "Application List", which it requires to scan (just the way it was engineered). Sometimes the Application List will download the first time, but I've had to turn the printer off and on and try it 3 times before it downloaded properly. It's kind of a flakey system, compared to some, but works good once you get it going. Once you scan, the program will come up to show it, and from that point on you will be able to subsequently scan from the program screen.

Slow bios splash screen

Hi,
I don't fully understand why your BIOS splash screen hangs for 30 secs, but its most likely due to a change in your BIOS settings. You will find a setting in your BIOS to disable the splash screen or to alter other settings to shorten the time that your splash screen is displayed.
Feel free to message me for any further info regarding this.
Best wishes,

DR-9080C intermittent stops during scanning which last 3 to 5 minutes

Do you have enough hard disk space? Reinstall your driver software. Run Scandisk on the Comp.

Is the problem coming on after a set time interval, any heating smell?
