Question about LG LSC121PMA Split System Air Conditioner
Hi. I have a LG Art Cool. There is a symbol that appears on the unit that is a snowflake above a drop of water. It only appears when I put the unit on the sun symbol to heat the room and then the unit will only blow cold air. Even if it's set to 30 degrees centigrade. The Unit is 5 years old and was recently serviced and cleaned. Please help as I cannot find any solution to this problem.

Try using a garden hose to wash down the condensor coil (the coil that is exposed to the outside air).
During the cooler times when it seems to be working, check the temperature difference of the air coming out against the temperature of the air coming in (room temperature air). The temperature should be approximately 16 to 22degF difference. If you are not getting at least 16degF air, you most likely need to have your unit serviced to see if professionial cleaning or a recharge is needed. If you are getting the temperature difference but not getting the amount of cooling you need during hot weather, it could be a capacity problem. You can perform a quick test by using the calculator on this site:
I hope you find this information helpful. Good Luck! :-)

See if you can reposition the thermister on the facing of the evaporator coils. That could be it or the thermister might be bad. They don't use copper/mercury sensing bulbs these days. They use these cheap thermisters.

Hello.I think they are on to something with shortcycling on temp sensor.I think it should be sampling the return air instead of (inside coils ?).A 2*f dead band use to be built in (factory installed) to thermostats to prevent on/off, but not sure in this case.Try a new sensor location(return air) and see if anything changes.
