Try to clean the player using a bluray cleaning kit. Dont use the dvd cleaning kit as a few can cause problems. Look at packages and see if they can be used on blu-ray players.

If this does not fix the player call Insignia immediately as the laser can be broke and will be expensive to fix. These players have a one year warrante so you should be covered

I would need to know which Insignia Blu Ray player you have to get a better idea of what potential problems you may be experiencing. Model number should be NS-XXXXXXX.

It sounds like the loader is failing, the lens is scratched/dirty, or the firmware isn't performing properly.

Recomendations:

Try using a Blu-Ray cleaning kit to clean the lens. Don't use a CD or DVD cleaner kit since these are too harsh for the Blu-Ray lens.

Try updating the firmware to the latest version by going to www.insigniaproducts.com and searching for your model number. Updates allow for more functionality of your player as well as greater compatibility with Blu-Ray discs and other disc formats.

I-Tunes is very proprietory, the music player is encoded on an AAC codec. The coby player is going to play Mp3 codec. There is only one way to get your music off of the itunes music engine and on to your Windows Media Player, which the coby will recognize. You need to basically make cd's of your music and then reload them onto your Windows Media Player. Unless you loaded the music from your own cd's it will be an arduos task. If you loaded the music into Itunes from your own cd's then you can re-load them into WMP (Windows Media Player). I would suggest before you load the discs that you change the settings in WMP to Mp3 and not the default of WMA this just makes it more universal ... although I do believe all coby players will play WMA. But with Mp3 codec in the WMP you can encode music at a higher kbs than WMA. That is the one thing that is wrong with apple itunes is that it can only be loaded onto Ipod players..... hope this helps

if its right you just copy the shortcut of the music from your cd to your windows media player, meaning you cannot play that song in the media player if the cd is not inserted, you have to rip first the cd to your pc then put it in your mp3. Also make sure that you rip it in the right format that your mp3 can play, media player automatically rip the music as wma not mp3, make sure your mp3 player can play wma.

The unit can recognize that a disc has been loaded but can not read the contents. This can be as simple as a dirty lens or more drastic like failing optics. Try cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. If that fails to correct the problem and a music CD will play OK, then the optics are failing. DVDs require more laser power to read than a music CD.

Hello I was looking to try and help you with your DVD player, we will start by loading a music cd store purchased, no burned cds please, if the cd loads and plays then your dvd player is either out of adjustment or going bad, most dvd players, i have worked on, will load and play a music cd, but will show loading errors when trying DVD's. If the music cd dosen't load then there could be an issue with the drive or tray. If the music cd plays just fine, then your laser is either out of adjustment or going bad. You can call the manufacuter to see if there is a process for resetting the DVD player, not all DVD players have this option, if resetting the DVD player dosen't work, but music cd's do then your laser lens is dirty or going bad. At this point you have three options 1) Take it to a repair shop, 2) Get an new one, 3) Get your hands dirty if your really handy and know what your doing to clean and replace the laser. I went back to my Napster account and downloaded the music to a cd. I then downloaded the cd to my Samsung Media player and deleted the locked music. Now everything plays. I also discovered that some of my own CDs had locked when I transferred the music to my new computer so I just reloaded them on my computer and deleted the locked cds.

maybe the music you are trying to play is protected as many music you buy over the internet is. try loading your player with music you ripped from a cd or make sure the protected music is transfered directly to your player with the program you bought the music with.
