Re: growing blue patch

You have to replace prism it has 3 small lcd screens Green Red Blue one of them is beginning to burn they are very expensive strip projector down with no power connected and take damaged screen of then block that area so no light can pass through it with fire resistent material you will get some more life out of it

I have a hitachi media projector and a blue patch is growing on the screen. i have read that this is caused by the prism. do i have to send the projector in to be repaired or can i buy a prism somewhere...

it's not the prism, it's the light filter on the blue lcd panel. it's starting to fry due to dust and heat. it does need to be replaced, but most companies won't just replace a part in the optical engine, so you'll have to replace the whole optical engine. and it's pricey. but find a hitachi service center (on their website) and ask them.

I have recently bought a second hand 3M projector, and when turned on the screen shows half Blue (i think) and half Red and when used via the laptop the red shows through on the right hand side, can anyone...

first reset the settings to factory default. you may have to realign the lcd panels and make sure the panel ribbon cables are properly seated. otherwise, you have a main board issue.

i believe your problem is heat the bulb is getting hot and the air or fan is not working properly so when it hits temp it automatically shuts off check your fan air flow filters etc

Hi there

Highly unlikly that it would be the lamp causing this error.

Sounds like a faulty LCD to me.

Toshiba TL-S30 projector, project one half of screen colored blue, one half clear

Is it a problem...or a setting in the projector asking u to check the color settings?

Try the manual fully... Also try the monitor with some analog input (other than PC)

Try to tell me.... whether my suggestion was useful???

Have a nice day.

Hitachi blue patch

I've had one for about a year and a half. This is the second time it happened to me. The first time they replaced it for free(warranty). Now my warranty is up and it is starting to happen again. I think that this must be a common problem in this model. I recommend contacting Hitachi and seeing what they have to say about it. I'm yet to call them again, but I will soon.
