Durabrand W375 Under Counter Radio/CD -- no display, won't turn on

We had a power outage at our house. When the power came back on, the clock radio would not work. The back light comes on, but nothing else does. We tried unplugging and replugging. We tried plugging the device into another outlet. We made sure that the outlet had power. We tried the remote. We put in a 9-volt battery. We waved our hands and chanted a small incantation. As yet, nothing has worked.

Display backlights, but no digits. Nothing works. AC power is there, changed battery with new one, still no display or anything working on unit. Only had it about 6 months. Nothing in manual about this. Tried pressing timer and holding, nothing. Even without battery, display backlights, but no digits.

I received my Durabrand W375-K Under Cabinet CD/Radio with Remote - December 25, 2008. I do not have a display light for clock or radio . Instruction manual does not tell me what my problem is or how to fix it. Please advise solution.

I have the same problem unit is about a month old turn it on and plays for about 5 min shuts back down no lights nothing the unit just shuts down.the power is hooked up the batteries are new.

I've owned the item for a day. It worked when we installed it yesterday. Today, the backlight is lit ... but no digits and nothing at all works. Can't even get the CD door to open or the clock to respond -- nothing. (Of course, I can't find the receipt, though I can find one for almost anything else in the house.) The fuse is fine -- the unit is plugged into an outlet that works fine on other appliances.

I have the same unit, a gift from my children, with a similar problem. With the power "on", everything seems to function, but I hear nothing from the unit. I suppose the speakers are not working or there is a problem with connectivity.
